Black Friday is on November 27 this year, and I keep going back and forth on one question: when every visitor arrives already looking for a deal, what do popups and other on-site elements really do?
Here is how I split it:
- Before the sale: collecting emails for early access ("get the deal before it goes public")
- During the sale: a countdown to the end of the offer, an announcement bar, a free-shipping threshold, an upsell at add-to-cart
I build a popup tool, so you would think my answer is obvious. It isn't. [One honest sentence: do you run a popup on your own site, and why or why not?]
PopupGenius is an AI Shopify app that designs upsell popups to match your store — colors, fonts, voice — then lets you edit them in chat. No designer. No drag-and-drop.
23 templates: upsells, cart-savers, email capture, restock alerts, quizzes. Smart triggers (exit intent, scroll, cart value). A/B tests pick the winner. Discounts apply automatically at checkout, including Shop Pay.
