I've been working on the PR for this and, as I said to Bo repeatedly, it's a product I now use all the time. I've been privileged to use it during beta and it's fantastic. I've been using it to let a contractor buy materials for a house project - and can see if he decides to go to Arby's or something randomly on it. It's so awesome.

@edzitron Thanks Ed!

One of those things I've wanted forever. Especially for services that lock you into a "yearly agreement" without you knowing, but bill you monthly. Looking at you Adobe.

Another use this would be perfect for is to give individual cc to staff members. We are currently struggling with this issue - our back needs names to be tied to a CC. When people leave, this means that we have to retire old cards and apply for new cards.

@andreasduess I have a similar use case. In our case, we have a single credit card so all transactions must be routed through account dept. We would love to create a card and give it to employees so that they can buy and try new software and services faster.

This is fantastic. This is how credit cards SHOULD work

I've generated dozens of virtual cards - some limited to a small $$/mo and others are one-time use only. Everyone one of them is tied to a particular vendor so if stolen I'm well protected

Pros:

What they offer - virtual credit card numbers w/ strong boundaries

Cons:

An extra step to make purchases - harder so on mobile but not as much on desktops

Don't waste your time with this 'service'. Its shoddy at best, and after they took my sensitive info, nothing worked. I was repeatedly asked to contact support - I didn't type anything incorrectly, their system just doesn't work. If they can't figure out how to connect a simple bank account, how can they be expected to protect my bank account information? That is the question.

Pros:

Supposedly offers free 'burner' cards

Cons:

Doesn't work after taking my sensitive information

Did 1 free trial on my Privacy account but generated cards for purchases at a few merchants over the past 4 months or so. I was told I was flagged for too many trials but since I only used it once for Netflix I will assume you are not supposed to generate a card for every purchase. I am leery to use again since I’d assume you could not get refunds on purchases if they close your account. But do be careful and don’t use burner cards at the same merchants. It kinda stinks if you’ve been hit by a charge from a merchant that you didn’t expect before, was higher than invoiced, or anything like that, since you can’t use a burner card with unreliable merchants you purchase from more than once without being flagged.

Pros:

Seems like you can generate a card for every online purchase. Appreciated not having to get my debit card on every site I shop at.

Cons:

Apparently generating a new card for every purchase is considered enough to get flagged as fraud.

Absolutely horrible company. Don't use them at all. Their customer service is almost non-existent, it took them 2 weeks to get back to me over the simplest problem. Absolute disgrace, if anyone has a better alternative let me know as I refuse to use this company any longer.
