Hey all, chiming in from a sales perspective here. Getting feedback to the product team is only half the battle, they still need to understand the broader context of the request across the customer base. Ever have a conversation that goes like this? Sales people: “Hey product team, we can’t close deals without XYZ feature” Product team: ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ It’s (probably) not that the product team is waging an assault on your commission checks. Chances are that they don’t have a good way to manage requests which makes every request seem like a one-off. What if you had a way to systematically capture all feature requests and easily share them with your product team? You could go from that conversation to this one: Sales team: “Hey product team, over the last 4 months we’ve had 27 customers ask for XYZ feature and think building it could help us unlock $$$ in new/expansion revenue” Product team: "this data is super helpful in making our case to management about why we should build this. Keep collecting data and I think we've got a good chance of getting this done." Help yourself by helping your product team - give them better feedback requests, backed with data, and watch the difference.

@austin_gaydos Thx for giving a perspective from the sales POV!

@austin_gaydos @shivhpatel - happy to do it! I've worked at too many places in the past where the feedback loops between product and customer-facing teams (sales, success, support, etc.,) were broken :)

This looks easy to set up and use. I’m looking for a way to make sure our customers are providing feedback into our products. Instead of having to be the middleman between customer -> sales -> marketing > product, the Portal seems to solve it sharing feedback directly from customers —> PMs. Looking forward to trying it.

@sally_d We feel you! We built the Portal as we heard product leaders often feel disconnected from their users and their needs. The Portal provides one place to collect and manage customer feedback at scale, so you don’t have to be the middleman anymore! Excited for you to try it. Please reach out if you need help setting up your Portal :)

++ on products specifically for PMs, this is going to help us standardize our processes and improve the discipline. It's super simple to use and solves the main pain point of involving customers through the whole feature development journey and closing the loop with them. Honestly, closing the loop is the main value prop for me because it drives the ever elusive ‘customer delight’. Landing page for Customer Feedback Portal is great, with the example portal. Took me a moment to realize it was an embedded view -> I would think about adding a border/panel or something to make it offset from the rest of the page.

@sidhantgandhi thx for the feedback. You are spot on - close the feedback loop is the key reason we built the Portal. There are many feature voting forms, but they just simply start the loop, not close them. Re: your LP comment --> I will address this week. Thanks!

?makers how do you prove that the customer providing feedback is in fact a customer?
Shiv Patel
@douglasfranklin Hi Douglas, you can embed the free Customer Feedback Portal in-app, so only customers can have access to it. In our paid offering, we are working on an integration with Salesforce, so you can determine feedback from all your different customer segments and attributes of users: customers, leads, SMB, churned, Enterprise, etc. In the free offering, you can go the embed in-app. You can also embed on your own custom webpage, the link which you control where it is shared. Oh, also, to ensure the user is a real individual and not spam/bots, a visitor needs to confirm their email upon providing an insight, feedback, or a new idea. Does that help? Is there another way you were hoping to achieve this?
