Congratulations! If I have Indian entity does this means all the taxations will be happening in India on whatever payments we accept on Remitr global business account?
Kanchan Kumar
@rohit_parab That's right, nothing changes on taxation front. Indian entity gets virtual bank accounts overseas, where your customers can pay locally and funds show-up in Indian bank accounts.

This sounds pretty cool. What if we have an existing Stripe account? Do we link it?
Kanchan Kumar
@ritu_soni_srivastava Yes absolutely. Link your stripe account to the RemitrGBA account and see the savings accumulate $$$

This is incredible! I have been following Remitr journey and they are slowly and steadily making big impact in the cross-country payments category. I am looking forward to using this product.

@saranglakare Thank you Sarang for the kind words. We are focused on making Int'l banking simple & cost-effective for small businesses.

This is awesome @kanchankumar @sandeep_todi ! Congrats on the launch ! Noob Question - Is the reverse possible ? Transferring $ from Indian account to US account ? Remembering all the forms I signed and the amount of time it took still gives me nightmares.
Kanchan Kumar
@sandeep_todi @yashwantm Sadly not yet😞 . Indian regulations does not permit us to bring the same efficiency, simplicity and cost saving for India-outward payments.

This Wednesday with our much-anticipated launch on Producthunt and half through the day, it is so rewarding to see a huge number of comments and reviews from the entire Producthunt community. THANK YOU so much, to each well-wisher for showing your appreciation. The idea of Remitr Global Business Account was borne out of the insight we saw into our own users experience with receiving payments. Remitr already provides leading edge payment capabilities to pay suppliers and employees across the world. However, receiving customer payments across borders continued to be a bugbear. And thus the idea of Remitr Global Business Account. After all, small businesses are always under pressure for profit margins. Upto 3% gets consumed by credit card processing. An additional 4-5% gets eaten up when payments received by card have to be wired to the country where your bank account is located. By enabling you to put your hard earned money back into your business, we help you negate the advantage that larger businesses have. Our mission is to champion small business success. Remitr Global Business Account is another step in that direction.

Looks like a great product! Can we also use this to transfer funds to other countries, or is it only for receiving funds from US, EU and UK in our local currency?
Sandeep Todi
@nikhilwason it is primarily to help you receive funds from US/UK/EU, avoiding expensive currency conversion with the receiving bank and eliminating wire transfer fees that are paid on both ends. You can also use Remitr GBA to pay suppliers and contractors in other countries - some limitations may apply. Happy to discuss your specific situation on a chat / phone call.

This is my first ever comment on PH; and I’m glad that I’m doing it for a Product by you Kanchan. Heard a lot of good about it already; you should keep putting it on PH once every 6 months, especially — when the new sessions start and folks go out to other countries for MS/BE; who knows who starts a start-up before they graduate. Superproduct — Such a practical concept with an awesome execution!
Kanchan Kumar
@amitspuri Thanks Amit for the kind words.

Hi, this looks interesting. 1. I remember TransferWise borderless account coming with similar feature (hold foreign currency) only to discontinue later citing RBI regulations. How did remitr achieve this.? 2, When getting the money back to the home account, would it be treated as domestic transaction or export of goods/service (in short would an FIRC be provided)? 3: If one has to use Stripe India (provides export transaction with 4.3% fee). So is does Stripe + Remitr is a fit here for SaaS businesses when the overall FX tax is still a bit high?
Sandeep Todi
@ronak_jain some very good questions here, thanks for voicing them. We come across this frequently and have a regulation compliant solution to solve the specific use-case. Happy to discuss this directly - please connect with me on sandeep@remitr.com.

I have been using Remitr for some time to pay my contractors in India. The best service that I have found. I clearly remember having to deal with my bank earlier for sending international wires. With such a bad user experience, you also ended up paying some $30 for each transaction. God knows how they calculated their FX rates. With Remitr my life has been so simple. Remitr’s customer support team has been very helpful during the onboarding and KYC verification process. For sending the payments, it gives me the option to select the desired currency. Total win win I can see Remitr being even more useful in today’s remote work environment

@pseudo_jedi even more than me our customer teams would be so delighted to hear of your feedback. We feel quite passionate about championing business success for our customers and created Remitr for precisely this reason - keeping it fast, transparent and low-cost. Thank you.
