Hi there!! I see you have meeting rooms in remotely-why is that?
@cami_godoy_morris Hi Cami, thanks for your interest in Remotely. In the development process we conducted user interviews and asked our users to rank what was important to them. The ability to host private meetings, share screen and present was high on the list, but more than this users wanted to be able to seamlessly move from a meeting into a breakout space and into a activity. We also found they early testers enjoyed being able to catch up prior to game and afterwards to debrief. This is where our 'Hub & Spoke' design originated. 😊

@cami_godoy_morris there is still a functional need to meet as a team. The amazing thing is your remote working team can be in different cities or countries and still have asynchronous communication as if they were all physically together in the same room. You walk up and start talking together. Meeting rooms give you the ability to have different sized and private meetings.

What type of companies are using Remotely at the moment?
Adam Berry
@hear_me_roar_kids There is quite a broad range of companies using Remotely, but we are seeing Remote working Tech companies and Universities as the biggest emerging segments at the moment. And they are located all around the world.
@hear_me_roar_kids thanks for the great question. We've had enquiry from companies all over the world including well known global brands. Companies are anywhere from SME to large Enterprise sized companies but are generally seeking activities for their specific teams. Like their marketing or sales departments. This shows us 1) that the problem we're out to solve is as wide spread as we thought. And 2) that companies are seeking something to help with their teams social activities.

Thanks so much for making the base elements free, I was able to check out exactly what Remotely offers and get a taste of games on offer. Can’t wait to see what else the team builds!
@maxie_godoy Our pleasure! We wanted to make sure that we gave users the best opportunity to enjoy everything that remotely has to offer. Over time we'll have more free as well as paid features and content. We appreciate you taking the time to check the platform out :)

@gene_harris Yeah it's great as most SaaS asks for credit card details straight away and I always feel uncomfortable about that. So it's nice to be able to just try something first without the pressure. As it is I think the platform offers a lot of what I'm looking for. I'm going to test it early next week with some friends.

@hear_me_roar_kids Our pleasure. It was important for us to put the tools in everyone's hands so they could gain the best insight into what Remotely has built. We currently have two new original games in development that we're really excited about as well as a host of other paid features. We do hope you'll stick with us for the ride.

@adam_berry2 yeah some amazing stuff every day and every week. The next generation of SaaS and Remote Working tools are looking pretty amazing.
Rob Rodolfo
So, I’m supposed to allow my team to play games when they should be working? I don’t get it?
@robr Great question. Just the same as in a physical office, team building activities help coworkers to form stronger bonds, build trust and get to know each other. This is important for a strong working relationship. Industry studies show that those who [have a best friend at work] are seven times as likely to be engaged in their jobs, are better at engaging customers, produce higher quality work, have higher well-being, and are less likely to get injured on the job. Furthermore, they are: >less likely to be actively looking or watching for job opportunities >more connected with their coworkers, knowing what is expected of them and trusting their integrity and ethics >more likely to have a positive experience during the day, such as enjoying what they do, making more progress and getting recognized for successes >less likely to report having a negative experience during the day such as worry, stress and feeling tired Who wouldn't want their staff to feel those things? With just 20mins a week dedicated to social play, remote teams can build relationships which help them appreciate their colleagues, get to know them better and improve their well-being.
Adam Berry
@robr its a legitimate question-really all depends on the type of culture you want create for your remote working team and don't forget they might like to be part of a social team, so have a chat with your team about this and get the right set up for yourselves.
Ashwin Rao
Why did you guys choose 3D instead of say 2D?
Adam Berry
@ashwin_rao2 Great Question. We chose 3D as we believe its a more immersive medium, which is essential for social connection. 3D also means users can enjoy personalisation's of their unique avatar and environment. Finally, all the assets we create are transferable to the metaverse and VR in the future.
@ashwin_rao2 We chose 3D as a medium for a few reasons. 1) It gives the audience the perception of depth which helps to build immersion. This is a real difference flat 2D productivity tools. 2) The ability to reuse and repropose assets. Our animation rigs, costume assets etc... can be used in a variety of ways. Including potentially applications on the metaverse. 3) It allows us to use the assets in more creative ways, through animation, camera movements and character emotes. No doubt the animators and development team can give another 100 reasons...haha but these are the main ones from my point of view. Thanks for asking that is a great question.
Woody
I work in a remote working team and some of our colleagues I've never met-should we play some games regularly?
Adam Berry
@woody2007 Absolutely. Gamers create friendships around the world by playing games in squads, they have most likely never met. We've applied the same design principles to Remotely and remote work.
@woody2007 thanks for the great question. Through the user testing we've conducted users have told us that they found it remarkably quick to break the ice with people they haven't met in real life. In many ways this was a litmus test for the product. Could uses form a quick bond, share a joke and form quick connections....the data we have so far says yes. We even found that self confessed 'introverts' felt more comfortable to engage and communicate with their peers.
