Once these sort of technologies become mainstream it will make the life of specialists like myself significantly easier. As a developer I currently edit my videos and pictures with Blender and Gimp respectively. It is a decent amount of effort so in the future if I could do something like "speed up the video between the 1 minute and 2 minute mark" then that will be very helpful as the UI in Blender requires 3 PhD's.
