I built a simple safety app for moments when you don’t feel safe

by

There are a lot of moments in everyday life where you just don’t feel completely safe.

Walking alone
Meeting someone new
Being out late

Most of the time, nothing happens. But in those moments, you wish you had something simple in your pocket just in case.

That’s what led me to build SmartProBono
.

The idea was simple. One tap should be enough.

Start sharing your live location
Record what’s happening
Notify someone you trust

No setup. No confusion. Just immediate action when it matters.

I wanted something that feels invisible until you need it, but reliable when you do.

Just launched it and would really appreciate any feedback from this community.

congrats on the launch - a super important category and a place tech can actually do good. what's the experience on the receiver end? Like, if I click the button and it notifies a friend, do they get the live location and live feed into what's happening?

@anneliese Anneliese really appreciate that and great question. Right now, when a session starts, the trusted contact receives your location updates along with an alert so they know something is happening. The idea is to give them immediate awareness without needing a complicated setup on their end.

We are actively working on making the receiver experience more real time and intuitive, including a clearer live view of movement and what is happening during a session. The goal is that in a high stress moment, both sides have clarity without needing to think too much.

Would love your thoughts on what you would want to see on the receiving side. If you haven't got the app I would love for you to try it and provide feedback!

Happy to answer any questions or hear how others think about personal safety in situations like this.
