I built a stock market for athletes. Just launched alpha — looking for early traders.
Been sitting on this idea for a while: what if you could trade athletes like stocks?
Not fantasy. Not betting. Actual order books — bids, asks, limit orders — but the underlying asset is an athlete's performance and market sentiment.
Just launched the alpha of Athlete Exchange (ALEX). Here's how it works:
Athletes go through an IPO process before hitting the open market
AI-generated news affects valuations in real time (think earnings reports but for athletes)
Tradeable indexes — bet on a position group, a league, a narrative
Two factions driving market sentiment: Integrity vs. Shadow — think bull/bear but with lore
If you've ever looked at an injury report and thought "I'd short that guy right now" — this is for you.
Alpha is invite-only right now. Drop a comment or DM and I'll get you in, or use this link: 👉 https://athlete-exchange.app
Roast it, break it, tell me what's missing. Looking for people who actually think in terms of value and market movement.

Hi Blake, just clarifying: Are users competing to assemble the best "portfolio"? And is there real money to be gained (I'm guessing not, due to securities laws)?
@jeff_benson1 tldr: that may be changing..Great questions! Yes - assembling a strong portfolio is core to it, but there's a layer on top: you're also picking a faction (Integrity Commission vs. Shadow Faction), and AI-generated news events can swing athlete valuations in ways that reward reading the narrative, not just the stats.
On real money, you're right to flag the regulatory context. Right now it's fully in-platform currency during alpha. The US regulatory landscape around tokenized assets is genuinely shifting fast in 2025–26 (the SEC has been clarifying what is and isn't a security), so we're watching that closely before opening any on/off ramps. The honest answer is: that door isn't closed, it's just being opened carefully.
