A few months ago I had an idea, validated it with a few people, and built it. Kept it simple on purpose. No feature creep, just the core problem.
Friends tested it, found some small bugs, fixed them. The app works.
Then I tried to find real users. Talked to people I thought were my audience but the conversations didn't go anywhere useful. Ran a small paid ad. Got almost nothing back.
Now I'm stuck. Not because the product is broken, but because I don't know where my people are. And without real users I have no feedback, and without feedback I don't know what to improve.
I recently built FinanceCalcHub, a free U.S. financial calculator website designed to help people quickly estimate common personal finance numbers.
The goal is simple: many people make decisions based on gross income, but the real question is usually what they actually keep, what a payment really costs, or how money could grow over time.
FinanceCalcHub currently includes calculators for:
When I built ZeroPNG, it was one tool: compress a image. Drop it in, get a smaller file. That was it.
Over the past few months I kept adding "just one more tool" - and quietly ZeroPNG became something different. Today it has 12 tools, all running entirely in the browser with zero uploads:
Image Compressor - PNG, JPG, WebP, AVIF up to 90% smaller
Image Converter - convert between any format
HEIC Converter - iPhone photos JPG/PNG, instantly
Image Resizer - batch resize with aspect ratio lock
Crop & Resize - freehand or fixed-ratio crop
Remove EXIF Data - strip location, device info, metadata
Watermark - single image watermarking
Bulk Watermark - stamp your brand across a whole batch
Image to Base64 - encode images for embedding in code
SVG Converter - SVG to raster formats
Images to PDF - bundle images into a single PDF
Web Image Analyzer - audit your images for web performance
I graduated architecture school 23 years ago and never thought I would design a piece of computer software. Then came AI coding and all of the sudden it seemed possible. I am launching my product Marlowe, this Saturday and I am really proud of what I made. The problem Marlowe solves is an overwhelming email inbox and being worried you are going to forget/miss something important. For me that leads to stress, so Marlowe is my helper to make sure I don't miss anything. Please keep an eye out for Marlowe launching this Saturday, and you want to get a preview, you can visit my website, withmarlowe.app
In my experience, it's usually a workflow problem.
Most teams already have the data. The difficult part is collecting it from different sources, structuring it, turning it into forecasts, generating reports, and repeating the process every week or month.
That's why we built ELECTE.
It helps teams create forecasts, generate reports, and automate recurring financial analysis workflows with AI.
