Shimmer offers online video support groups for personal growth led by coaches. Members join a small group with shared identity & experiences, meet weekly via video chat, attend community events, and become the best version of themselves.

This is absolutely awesome! As someone who worked with people suffering from substance abuse, they often talked about how important our face-to-face group therapy sessions are to them. Being in the same room with people who just "get it" is the most powerful thing, especially being guided also by a counselor/therapist who is empathetic. I always wanted to see whether there are tools that can try to replicate the magic digitally (especially since pandemic completed obliterated that option for people). It looks like you guys are doing it! Love the mission, the design, and I am excited to where you guys go from here!

@andrew_tsao Thank you Andrew - your thoughtfulness is appreciated! 🔥 Totally re: people who "get it". For that reason we use peer support specialists with matching lived experience as our members, so the entire group "gets it" together! Offering a space where there is no hierarchy dynamics has been so rewarding for our members (and us!) - to be able to truly open up and watch the affirmation nods spread across the (virtual) room. We're still working on continuously improving the magic part, so any feedback/tips from those who have been in the group space like yourself is always welcome!!
