Love the product but I can think of a lot better uses for that kind of money. Regardless, what's the marketing premise? That people will see it in your store and then follow you on social media to see it tick over? If so, then so what? It's basically an expensive sign that says "Follow us on social media." I'd rather give them a reason to follow (and *engage* with) you and raffle off that $450 in "store" credit" to one of our followers. Or something. Again, love the product execution and would absolutely buy it and use it as a dynamic "cow bell" in our offices to keep track of new signups, but I don't buy the marketing side of it. But I could be (and often am) missing something. :)

A bit on the high price for "personal" cool toy usage but since this is more geared towards a brick+mortar business, its fine. I think the selling point on this is definitely the API. Social media counters and reviews is fine but imagine being able to use this to display "current site traffic", "current # of users/members" or "amount of $$ raised" at a physical charity event. Well done. Cheers.

Love this idea. What is the history behind how you made it?

@joshdance we wanted to create a device customisable and easy to use for businesses in order to facilitate and empower in-store customer engagement. And have fun doing it :) we come from software industry, discovering the hardware have been a real challenge but a great adventure.

Only affordable to those that have investor money to splurge?

This is a really great concept. Are there plans to go beyond social accounts?
Christophe Avignon
@stvmcg yes with the API you can connect the device to any data
Gregory Koberger
Awesome! I've been really wanting a Smiirl or Fliike, but they are FB/Twitter/Instagram only. We want it to show revenue, support queue length, and more. So, the API is perfect! I know you probably aren't looking for feature requests, but I really wish there were better icons on the left side than all those Twitter/FB/etc in different languages. If there were just random icons (from, say, https://linearicons.com/), I would have been much more likely to buy. (I did buy.. but I hesitated a lot :) ) Or even 4-5 blank ones that we could put our own stickers on. (Also, minor quibble, but it seems weird to have a + but no - symbol). In-store/shop is a great market, but I think you also have a big "company stats dashboard" market as well :)
Christophe Avignon
@gkoberger thx! we especially left some blank flap for that reason :)

Such a nifty, fun product! @chrisavignon how'd you end up settling on the form factor and size? It 'appears' to be rather large in some settings but perfect for others.
Christophe Avignon
@sarthakgrover the target was to have a device big enought to be seen in a store, bar, hotel but not too big to be nicely integrated.
