Strive - Make K12 math fun via online 1-1 coding classes

Hi Product Hunt. So happy to have @mwseibel from YC hunt us. Strive's mission is to revolutionize math education to be more meaningful and applicable to the real world. When data scientists, engineers or financial analysts do math, they use computers. In real-world maths, computers do almost all the calculating; by contrast, people do all the calculating in educational maths. This makes no sense! In teaching students math that they will never use in the real world, we create formula reciting robots that hate the subject. This not only affects a student's confidence and career choice but in light of AI, if we fail to teach students how to think for themselves and instead focus on teaching them concepts that are trivial for computers, they will be deemed redundant in the 21st-century economy. With math through code, we make math applicable to the real world and fun! We've had more than 100 students go through our program and have seen first-hand the impact of making students emotionally engage in math. One of my favourite messages I've received from a parent was, "My daughter will be taking computer science at school thanks to her experience with Strive. I have been associated with Strive as a teacher for four months. It has been an amazing journey so far. I enjoyed when I saw the excitement of kids when they complete their projects. Students are loving it to see how Mathematics is applied in the real world in making really cool things. These classes make students learn the fundamentals of Mathematics and Programming in a very effective manner. This is the constant feedback heard from the kids and their parents who have been learning with us. I wish to learn and teach many more amazing projects to the kids in Strive !!!

Hey everyone, I have been teaching at Strive for the last few months and can confirm that it is a game-changer for education in STEM. I have been a Strive teacher for 2 months now and it has been absolutely wonderful! I felt so proud and happy when one of my students proudly mentioned that they came so far from not knowing what the math coordinates were to doing complex projects. Seeing the excitement on the kids faces each lesson is so exciting to me and I can't wait to build more fun projects with them!

Hi everyone! For four months I have been tutoring Strive students and it has been such an enriching experience. It is amazing to see that every single student approaches a project from a different perspective. In school students are often taught "the one and only" way to solve a problem, but at Strive the student and the teacher alike are encouraged to be creative and to explore the world of mathematics interactively by means of coding. This is great for all those who love mathematics and look for a way to express this passion. But (maybe even more importantly) this interactive approach also has the power to show students, who did not like maths at all, a completely different side of this subject, which they were not aware of.
