tabExtend transforms your new tab into a Kanban board, allowing you to offload sites, jot down notes, and strategize your day with to-do's and reminders. Schedule site visits and seamlessly sync everything with our new native mobile apps(iOS and Andriod)
Happy Tuesday guys π, Iβm Gustav, let me tell you about two things I like.
I like building products, and I like to learn new stuff.
Above is our product, tabExtend, now in version 2.0 and beyond π§βπ.
The main idea is that you simply get a Kanban board where you can drop off your tabs, add notes, reminders, etc, etc. And in honor of the Kanban, hereβs some interesting facts about them:
"Origin Story:
Kanban originated in Japan, and the term "Kanban" literally translates to "visual card" or "signboard" in Japanese. The system was initially developed by Toyota in the 1940s and 1950s to improve manufacturing efficiency and is part of the lean manufacturing system. Taiichi Ohno, an industrial engineer at Toyota, developed Kanban to improve manufacturing processes. He was inspired by the way supermarkets stocked their shelves based on what consumers took rather than by vendor pushes, mirroring a "pull" system.
Fun Fact:
When Ohno first introduced the Kanban system, he utilized actual physical cards placed in clear plastic boxes. When a worker or station needed more parts, they would send their Kanban card to the upstream station. This simple yet effective visual management tool helped workers easily determine what needed to be produced and in what quantity.
Current State:
Kanban has since moved beyond just manufacturing and has been embraced by industries worldwide, especially in software development and project management. With the rise of digital tools and platforms, virtual Kanban boards are now a common sight. Apps like Trello, Jira, and also the beloved tabExtend offer digital Kanban boards where tasks are represented by "cards" that move through columns or "lanes" representing stages of a process.
It's fascinating to think that a system inspired by supermarket stocking has transformed the way many industries, especially tech, approach productivity and workflow."
That's it for todays history lesson. Please ask away about our product, the libraries we use, bootstrapping, and maybe the most important question: who made the video? π. Also, follow for more product launches very soon π.
Cheers!
@gustav_ekerot congrats on the launch! I love tabextend and use it every single day! Keep rocking π

Absolutely Stellar! β¨ tabExtend is a gem! π Keep soaring!
tabExtend has single-handedly revolutionized my browsing experience. No more endless lists of bookmarks, forgotten tabs, or haphazard notes scattered in different apps. It turns your new tab into a dynamic Kanban board, making organization not just easy, but genuinely enjoyable!
π Offloading Sites: I can now park sites for later without cluttering my browser or losing track of them.
βοΈ Notes: Jotting down spontaneous thoughts or essential points from a webpage has never been more intuitive.
π² Mobile Sync: The seamless synchronization with their new native mobile apps for both iOS and Android is the cherry on top. I can take my organized world with me on the go!
And now new (still reviewing these features, although to-dos are a bit older):
π To-Doβs & Reminders: Strategizing my day, setting reminders, and keeping up with tasks is now a breeze. Every morning, my day is set, and I'm greeted with my priorities right when I open a new tab.
π Scheduled Site Visits: This feature? Pure genius! No more relying on external alarms or calendar reminders.
In this fast-paced digital age, wouldn't it be groundbreaking to have an AI interface in tabExtend that lets you converse with your bookmarks? Imagine bringing unparalleled order to your browsing experience and supercharging your productivity. This could be the next big evolution we all need! ππ
@maxziebell Much appreciated, Max π. Thank you so much for the detailed and glowing review! It's genuinely heartwarming to hear about the positive impact that tabExtend has and how useful and intuitive you find it.
AI is certainly something we've been considering, and we might have some developments coming up in that area :). Our other product, tabOS (tabos.cloud), already features AI sorting, so we're definitely exploring further possibilities.
Once again, thank you for being a part of our journey and for sharing your insights. Here's to more productive browsing! π»π
I definitely like this concept! Having this "disease" of holding opened 50+ tabs in 2 Chrome windows because all of them are extra crucial, such an organizer will greatly ease my PC's life. :D

@valeriia_dziubenko give yourself the opportunity to use tabExtend, it will definitely improve your workflow.
Love tabExtend as a way of organising all the various websites I use. I've collected so many online tools over the years I often forget what I've got, but by saving all the links to tabExtend, and using the Kanban board layout to group them, it's made it super simple to find what I need, when I need it. Since starting to use it the team have been very responsive to feedback/questions and have introduced a number of updates, including a mobile app. Great product that I'm sure I'm not yet using to the full potential.
@markjdraper Thank you for the feedback! π Glad tabExtend helps you stay organized. We truly value user insights and are committed to improving. Keep exploring and let us know how we can further assist. Cheers to organized browsing! ππ

I don't know where I'd be without tabExtend, and I don't ever want to find out!
The couple times I reached out with a question (nothing problematic - a set-up to get to right account; a question after update) Gustav was so quick to respond.
I cannot recommend tabExtend more highly!
What's not to love?
* Looks great - productivity wonderful, but who wants an ugly presentation, even if productive :)
* So easy to organize and see personal, work, and other tabs.
* It loads immediately when I open chrome. No delay or lag.
* Tabs open right after clicking.
* Immediately syncs to all my devices.
* I can access all my tabs on my phone (though haven't really used that).
@created_by_me Cheers for the kind words and thoughtful review :), much appreciated π

Gustav is the man. And I β€ tabExtend. I have been a user of tabExtend since I first installed the pre-release version (un-released at that time on the Chrome store) in December 2020.
Gustav has poured his heart and soul into this product. And it shows. He has always been quick to fix any bugs or quirks and implement suggestions quickly. And he is constantly improving and making tabExtend better. I always look forward to my frequent emails from Gustav, where he talks about all the new features he has implemented.
He truly loves working on tabExtend, which shows in every product aspect.
If you want to get your browsing and tabs under control and more organized, then you can't go wrong with tabExtend.
Congrats Gustav! π
