Tana is goated with the sauce Merges the best of outliner PKM (Roam Research, Logseq) and table / file PKM (Notion) into a hyper flexible thinking tool Not to mention one of the coolest most helpful communities in the game 💪💯
Ev Chapman
@mark_midlick I’ve appreciated all your help in the community Mark! I always know I can count on you for an answer to my strange queries
Brage Bang
@mark_midlick Thank you Mark! The community is our #1 feature, I will die on this hill!
Hilde Dybdahl Johannessen
Agreed. Our community is super cool! me not so much—I had to ask hipper colleagues what your first sentence meant 😂 Thank you for your support and very kind words @mark_midlick!

Tana is one of the only products out there still pursuing the goal of providing a tool that actually helps people think more effectively. They are nailing it.
Brage Bang
@bjf 🫶 Thanks for that, Barton! That's the goal! 🚀
Hilde Dybdahl Johannessen
@bjf thank you! We're really trying to approach knowledge management and productivity from a different angle, so it's super nice to hear that people like you appreciate it!

As a Tana Navigator from Catalonia who has been deeply involved with the community since the early days, I'm thrilled to witness this milestone launch! Having experienced firsthand the evolution from a small group of early adopters to today's vibrant community of 25,000+ members, I've seen how Tana has revolutionised the way we handle information, particularly in my work bridging the digital transformation gap in the AEC industry. What makes Tana truly exceptional isn't just its powerful features or flexible knowledge graph—it's how it seamlessly combines unstructured thinking with structured data management, making it an invaluable tool for professionals across industries. As an architect and digital transformation consultant, I've found in Tana the missing piece that allows us to build robust knowledge management systems while maintaining the creative flexibility needed in modern business environments. To all new users joining today: welcome to a tool and community that's reshaping how we work with information. Whether you're looking to enhance your personal productivity or transform your organisation's knowledge management, you'll find in Tana a powerful ally and in its community an incredible source of support and inspiration. Congratulations to the entire team on this launch! Here's to continuing to build and grow together! 🚀

@davdelven Thanks for all your support and the feedback and the help in our community over the years David! Also for the bug reports some of which I remember fixing ^_^ Your examples, ideas and use has been a very nice demonstration of Tana use cases as I remember top of head. Advanced use but keeping it straight forward.
David Delgado Vendrell
@odinu Forcing you to work hard... was never my initial idea! :-D Fortunately, you are all incredible, guys! Keep it up!
Aurora
@davdelven David, thank you for being such an important part of the Tana journey from the start. Excited to keep building and growing together! 🚀
Matthew McKinlay
Thanks @davdelven! Today's a day to celebrate for the team and Tana community, and you've been a big part of it. You’ve helped so many people in the community, shared brilliant ideas, and always provided the team thoughtful feedback that’s made Tana better. Huzzah!

I've loved it since I first found it several years ago when it was in, I don't know, alpha I guess. Even though I'm decades retired and several times a great grandmother, it is still my favorite app. As a lifetime learner, it is a godsend in terms of keeping me aware of where I am, where I've been and where I need to go with the wide variety of interests I've developed over the years.
Hilde Dybdahl Johannessen
Thank you so much for your support and for joining already in alpha @janet_kino! And really inspiring that decades of retirement doesn't seem to have dulled your thirst for knowledge 🤩
Tarjei Vassbotn
Thank you for the support, @janet_kino! All the best from a fellow lifetime learner!
Aurora
Fellow lifetime learner @janet_kino! This really touches me to read. PS: Did you know that your last name translates to 'movie theatre' in Norwegian? #funfact
Janet Kino
@aurorakb I'm Danish, but live down near the German border. Whenever anybody is puzzled by my name, I just tell them to think of me as Fru Biograph. 😄 But actually it's a Japanese name ( my husband's) and means "slot(t)sfelt".
Aurora
No way @janet_kino! Learnings something new every day
Matthew Oxley

@umar_lateef Great to hear, @umar_lateef! Can't wait to get your feedback 🙏
Hilde Dybdahl Johannessen
@umar_lateef Please do! And let us know what you think and what we should improve moving forward!

@umar_lateef I’d definitely give it a go if I were you. You won’t be disappointed

Tana has been the most powerful, go to Knowledge Management Tool for me since it's early alpha launch days! The team's foresight into what the ideal solution should be like is unparalleled and I am so excited for the world to discover Tana now.! Kudos to the team and the community!
Hilde Dybdahl Johannessen

What the team at @Tana has built is nothing short of revolutionary. As someone who has extensively experimented with virtually every personal knowledge management tool on the market - from Evernote to Capacities to Logseq to Roam Research, Tana stands in a league of its own. It's the only system I know of that has the ability to comfortably house any type of information I want to store. Prior to discovering Tana, my experience with PKM tools was consistently frustrating and felt constraining. I ended up with notes across dozens of tools, creating a hard to retrieve entangled mess of information that was absolutely crippling to my productivity.. Tana is the first tool that truly adapts to how my brain works, rather than forcing me to adapt to it. Its insane flexibility combined with its structured approach has allowed me to finally take control of my thought processes and knowledge management in a way that is hard to describe without experiencing it. And I have truly only scratched the surface of its incredible capabilities. While traditional note-taking apps are more like building an enterprise applications with just HTML, Tana enables you to actually "code" your thinking process through its ability to build compound structures, create reusable thought patterns, and link ideas programmatically – all while scaling with complexity. Its similar to how MacOS serves as the operating system while Python is used to program it. It's a transformative paradigm shift because once you learn to "code" your thoughts using Tana's framework, you will unlock entirely new ways of thinking that weren't previously possible with conventional note-taking methods. If other PKM tools are like standard vehicles, Tana is a Ferrari: precision-engineered, high-performance, and designed for those who demand the absolute best!!

WOW, thanks a lot @elomaur! Deeply appreciated. What amazing praise - we're blushing right now.
Brage Bang
@tana @elomaur Elom, thank you for a very kind review 🫶 I had the same experience when I discovered Tana, coming from other knowledge management systems. And this: "Tana is the first tool that truly adapts to how my brain works, rather than forcing me to adapt to it." 👈 This goes in my onboarding template straight away. Great way to put it!
Elom
@tarjeiv 🫶 You've all build something truly incredible! Excited for others to experience Tana's magic!

Tana is the only tool that is open on both my laptop and phone all day, every day. This app is the first thing I write into in the morning (my morning pages) and the last thing I write in at night (my homework for life). The AI integrations pull tasks, important insights automatically from my notes and writing. As both a fiction and non-fiction writer, my ability to create is exponentially enhanced by Tana's capabilities. I can record all of of my daily thoughts and observations quickly with the voice note app on my phone and they instantly appear in Tana. I can mark highlights and notes in everything I read in my Kindle and online, and through the integration with Readwise it also instantly appears in my Tana app. I collect, curate, synthesize and create daily using the Tana supertag and query capabilities. I even write my newsletter and my creative pieces right inside the app. The Tana community are incredible and there are plenty of folks out there with advanced knowledge and capabilities when you want to do something sexy, but don't have the time or the knowledge yet to achieve it yourself. The customization capabilities are insane. I have a full template that I can pass on to students who undergo my life-planning course for women (The Heroine's Adventure). Once installed students can use my system as though they were Tana experts.

Thanks so much @laptoplifelisa! You have been one of Tana's great explorers! Always amazed at what you build, I never would have thought to do half the things you have- very inspiring!
Tarjei Vassbotn
So grateful for your support @laptoplifelisa . And so proud and humble that you appreciate it!

What do I want Tana to be for me? The truth is, Tana can be anything you need it to be. For me, Tana started as a simple notepad where I jotted down quick notes during my workday. Then, I began adding links and my thoughts on them, turning Tana into my personal knowledge hub. Next, I created projects and tags, and Tana became a versatile to-do list app. Now, Tana is also my research assistant, my brainstorming partner, my podcast script writer, and my contact manager. Tana can be anything you want it to be. What do you want Tana to be for you?
Aurora
@jeroen_sangers So true, and a great question to ask! Thank you for all your support!
Ev Chapman
@jeroen_sangers that’s the beauty of Tana right there. You can start of really simple and then it grows with you.
Tarjei Vassbotn
Awesome to hear, @jeroen_sangers ! That's exactly how we'd like people to experience Tana - start simple, progressively get more and more out if it!
Odin Urdland
@jeroen_sangers Boom, love it!
