YDays - Creative drawing challenges with friends

Hey folks 👋, I’m a designer and creative coder from Oakland, and this is my first launch on Product Hunt. I’m excited to share YDays with you! In August 2020, a layoff from work led me to devote my full time to this passion project. I was inspired by a Slack community of lettering artists and type designers I’m part of. We sometimes run challenges: we choose a theme and generate constraints we all need to follow. Then we share our creations, vote our favorites, and post them on Instagram. It’s part accountability, part inspiration, and competition, but above all, it’s super fun. I’ve noticed a lot of people like to make things, but they don’t always get to be creative in their day-to-day life. And creative expression is a great way we get to know our friends and coworkers. When you create a five-day challenge on YDays and invite friends or coworkers, you’ll get a different interactive drawing tool every day. The tools have unusual properties, so part of the fun is discovering what you can make. It’s a bit of a level playing field too since no one will be an “expert” at drawing with a novel tool. I’ve been blown away by what our test users so far have been coming up with in these challenges, and here are some real quotes from users so far: — I'm having a lot of fun! Eah. That’s great! Real creativity booster with huge potential

I love it! I’m not very tech savvy - but I don’t need to be for this! It’s a fun challenge to share with friends and look at things a little differently for a few minutes.

This is the perfect tool for 2020 because it allows you to create, relax, and connect. The challenges also give me something -fun- to look forward to completing the next day, which is a very appreciated feeling.

Finally, something on the internet that makes sense.

Recently did one of the challenges, and really enjoyed pushing my creativity as well as checking out what others had created with similar prompts!

I've been playing this week with my neighbours. I love that each day the drawing tool works differently--it is delightful and fun.

I find the drawing both challenging and relaxing. Even though I need to practice, I love being inspired by my friends.
