I’m an first gen. ethnic Ukrainian myself, my father came from Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast and I’m very proud of my heritage. I would not start on Etsy as a business myself, maybe Shopify or Wooecommerce, most say are better and looks professional. Etsy just looks clumpy and crass, listing everything on one page is all wrong, the owners mostly sits there twiddling their thumbs and I feel sorry for them. I converted one lady, and I’m pleased for her. I advised her to buy your own domain but don’t buy per your name or business use keywords within gives you an edge over others who didn’t. This lady posted on Quora her borrowed etsy page asking "why she was NOT getting any visitors", so I showed her what etsy wrote on her metas and it mostly talks about ETSY which is wrong, wrong, wrong, but the user doesn’t know and they sit there waiting and waiting. Most people that do go etsy, they use a borrowed page from Etsy, wrong, the problem here is Google does not see this as authoritative. Google sees what’s before the [.] dot com and sees Etsy as authoritative and ignores your brand name, no authority. BORROWED ETSY URLS DON’T RANK. Whose got a borrowed etsy URL? Authority is what a business needs to thrive on Google, without and you’ll fail, whose going to backlink your page, nobody. Tina, on another note, your Toolsy page, you didn’t go your keyword research, if you have 7K, it could be 70K today. Really nicely presented and looking page but when the page opens, look at the browser TAB, what do you see? Who knows TOOLSY, I’ve never heard of until today on Product Hunt, so how does Google know what the page is all about, they don’t, so the page flatlines. Generating traffic is the reason for coming on Google. Your marketing brings in [via social media channels] potential visitors, this is the wrong approach, get Kerem to do his keyword research? Now get him to optimise the page as a 📈business owner📈, think like an SEO and 📉you’ll fail📉.
