How do you remind yourself of the value of your time and money?
This question is semi-philosophical, but I recall my ex-classmate – she had quite rich parents and really didn't need to work. As an only child, she had everything first (all technology, all pricy vacations, they even bought her own flat in 18 + car). Since she had a lot of money from her parents and a lot of free time, she only enjoyed life (some dr*gs and other stuff). As a person, she didn't look like someone who would appreciate money or time at all because it was "normal" to have everything from all above mentioned.
(And I don't want to sound bad, but I honestly don't know what skill she would have that she could use to make a living - the only thing she was really good at was being sassy, which, oddly enough, earned some people's respect.)
On the other hand:
– There are still people who can achieve something from nothing
– They can have such a bad situation that they are forced to do something with their existence
When it comes to me, whenever I had to do things I disliked or found difficult – like learning a new skill to earn money – I ended up valuing both time and money much more. I also started appreciating other people’s time. The easier things come, the less we tend to value “fast, easy” money and the time spent getting it.
Is it good to earn things the hard way to appreciate your time and money? How do you recall its value?
What's your stance on it?

@ajinsunny It looks kinda optimistic, but I am afraid that with my lifestyle, I will die in 40 :D

@ajinsunny Need to fix some things at first :D
I feel education has a lot to do. Even with well off parents, it's all about the values you have / you learn. I come from low income family with just basic education, so the way I enjoy where I am today is def very different from people who comes from a different background. But I also see how my values change over time, whereas I would work to exhaustion before, now I value personal time more.

@norteapp I feel you (tho I am still not yet where I want to be and my personal time... still don't value as I could.) Probably I am thankful for what I earned, tho started thinking about what if I had a better background and would still be hardworking. I could be somewhere else.
@busmark_w_nika I am sure you'll get there. I have been where you are today and its totally ok.

@norteapp Once! :)
There is a Parreto rule that says that 20% of effort gives 80% of the result, if you look for solutions, you can get almost the same results as with hard work.
In general, the best tactic is to work hard for several years and retire at 30😂

@panichev_tihon This is how I approach it, but one crucial thing: You need to work on the right things! :D
Murror
I think my time is mainly focused on work, health, and learning new skills. But above all, health comes first bcuz without it, I wouldn’t be able to do the other things. As for money, I believe if your work creates enough value, the money will follow, thhe important thing is whether it’s a lot or a little. Even if you have a lot of money, if you have to sacrifice your health and happiness for it, it’s not really worth it. Just my POV.

@monatruong_murror I neglected my health, and now, I have missed at least 3 months of productive work because having some issues. Hopefully, it will change. :)
Murror
@busmark_w_nika I hope your health will be better before you want to do anything. <3

@monatruong_murror Thank you, Mona, working on it! :)

I believe that in any situation, it is important to value both your time and your money. Even millionaires, in many cases, think more about their time
minimalist phone: creating folders
@ixord IMO, millionaires once they hit their money goals, they care only about experiences and milestones related to some change in society rather than counting money :)
IXORD
@busmark_w_nika That is true as well :)
I just keep working and living in the present moment
minimalist phone: creating folders
@marc_vuit How do you do that? :)
@busmark_w_nika focusing on my own daily tasks and try be in present moment

@marc_vuit I have the same on the plate, but focusing is not so easy as I expected :D I thought you will share some special technique :D
the "hard way" can be misleading sometimes.. you can work whole day and yeah, you'll value every second you find for yourself and loved ones. but it's not healthy.
on the other hand, you built your time value with the assets you create that generate wealth for you, you build your knowledge, you build your network, you become smart, respected, loving, while having time in hand for yourself. you love yourself, you focus on right things and you're being rich in smart way rather than "hard way".
yes in this case, you still value time & money, much more than a person born with.. but additionally, you've something much more valuable... your own value, and people respect you not because what you're born with but what you have become... you feel great, you love what you do.. you do things that gives meaning to your life..
after a stage, you might even see things differently, money doesn't matter ( like all rich person says ) and then you're living a life, you've built.. you feel proud about yourself!
I'm not born in a wealthy family either... but that doesn't mean, I'm not happy or depressed that why don't I get everything at that moment.. rather thankful for what I have and what worse could happen...
be grateful, be smart, build something valuable, be valuable and live a life you want that is written by yourself..
also I see it more like a story.. whenever I feel like, oh no.. i wish I could have that thing like that little kid, but then oh yeah.. it's tough, if I will write my story later, it'll be more interesting.. and then suddenly you feel like a character in movie and do your stuff.. ( this is good trick though haha )

@akash_03 you are right. We should be thankful for everything that the universe gave us. (or didn't give) :)
