“So… your video translation translates the audio, not the video?”
At the end of 2024 we launched Vozo Translate, a video translation tool, on Product Hunt.
Our belief was simple: great content shouldn’t be limited by language.
By mid-2025 the translation quality had become decent, so I started recommending it to some fellow researchers who regularly give conference talks.
After watching the demo, one professor said something obvious we had completely missed:
“So... your video translation translates the audio, not the video?”
He was right — and it was embarrassing.
Like most "video translation" tools, we were translating voice and subtitles — not the video itself.
No one really touches visual translation — it’s just too hard and messy.
But for many knowledge videos — talks, training, explainers — a huge amount of information lives in slides, diagrams, and demos. Often more knowledge is on the screen than in the speech.
So we started working on Visual Translate — translating the entire video, not just the audio.
We launched the beta on March 10.
