This is a smart move. The friction of leaving your group chat to open a separate app is where expense-splitting tools consistently lose people. Having Splitzy live where the conversation already happens removes that entirely.
The @mention pattern is really well-designed for this. It is the same insight behind Hello Aria (our AI assistant launching April 10th on PH) - we built it for WhatsApp and Telegram rather than as a standalone app because people already have those open all day. The interface you already use is often the best interface.
One feature request: would love to see Splitzy handle uneven splits with context. Like @splitzy Tharun pays extra since he ordered the steak. Natural language for irregular splits would make this feel like magic.
