Voicenotes Pages - What if publishing felt like talking to a friend?

I have been following Voicenotes for the last two months. Kudos to your journey.

I'm a huge fan of apps leveraging voice notes that get transcribed to text. LLM-based speech-to-text for the win!

(Not so much a fan of people sending me voice notes that aren't transcribed, it takes painfully long to listen to them)

Huge congratulations to the Voicenotes Pages team! You've truly nailed the perfect blend of simplicity and storytelling—making idea-sharing as easy and natural as having a conversation. What an incredible achievement!

No surprise that Voicenotes Pages is beautiful, simple, elegant and super useful - as others have mentioned below - "believing" in VN way back when you announced (last year? - who can keep track of time in these crazy, hazy days :) - was an easy decision - as was supporting the story behind your launch - and it remains, one of the best "shut up and take my money" decisions for those of us who love to talk to ourselves - and yet - forget much of what we said to ourselves - a few minutes later :). This looks super exciting - appreciate all of the updates along the way - and wish you much continued success with an already fantastic product.

hey Jijo, congrats on teh launch .. i've been supporter and user of voicenotes. when i click on the link, it takes me to the voicenotes/app . how do i use the pages? clicking on record on 'Start my page' takes me to the app. i'm on the browser.

I’m better understanding my own use case for this product and it’s greatly improved since launch when I signed on as a Believer. Thank you for striving to make it the best of its kind Jijo & Aleesha, and for adding a feature I needed most, email! Each time I compose a letter to friends or family has been daunting as I get older and they are often abandoned as drafts. Being able to record thoughts and have them assimilate into coherent messages is a huge help for myself and no doubt other Autistic users with difficulty making sense of a simple thought process. No longer do I need to read and re-read to ensure it says what I wanted without being poorly phrased or with embarrassing spelling. Thank you so much for what you’ve done specifically for my needs as a woman trying to better communicate and for making importing of recordings possible. I send my blessings to you both for being kind and helpful.

Clarity about Security, Data Privacy and Pricing?

Hey @jijosunny and the @Voicenotes team,

Congratulations on the great launching. It seems you have designed a much needed experience for what will ultimately solve our note-taking and note-reusing needs.

I would however ask you to help me understand a few things that are not very clear yet with the product offer and not to be found in your website.

1. Security and User Data Access: I assume Voicenotes doesn't offer E2EE and full user data privacy. Why would that be? The website says data is encrypted at rest, but I could not find much about who has access to the data, and why access personal content from users (private notes and thoughts) at all in the first place?

2. User Data Protection: The Privacy Policy says "your notes and data stays only between you and Voicenotes", but there are several terms in which you describe sharing or even deleting user data. Could you bring some clarity here? Voicenotes doesn't seem to be explicit about how it complies with GDPR, LGPD, California Data Protection and other exisiting regulatory user protection laws and frameworks (at least this cannot be found on the website).

3. Free tier: there seems to be a little of a dark pattern here, where the free tier isn't explicitly clear about its limitations. Would this be intentionally obscure so that the users convert to paid tiers? If not, what actually can someone do with the free tier? What are its limitations, usage terms, etc?

-- Reason being because sometimes it may take a longer trialing journey for a user to feel sufficiently confident to make such an important shift as to choose a new repository of personal thought and notes.

I would love to try and leverage the experience and features designed with Voicenotes. However I, like others, am bound to so many industrial and discretionary NDAs that it would be so easily breached if I did unless the above is clearer, truly private/safe for the user and more explaining of its compliance parametres.
