WhatsApp for Desktop gives you the possibility to have all your messages in all your chats synchronized on your PC. And do not worry about security, every message is encrypted so only you and the recipient can read it, hear it or see it.
Have been using WhatsMac for a while and like it.
This is a nice client as well with the file attachment working. The use of official name does create a lot of ambiguity though.
Since no one is saying it: Works on ubuntu. I like it so far. In chrome was using 116MB of memory only that tab. As "app" uses 161MB. Seems to work really smooth congrats @aluxian!
@deambulando The high RAM usage is because the app itself run on a custom build of Chromium browser. Nothing related to this changed in the last update, just the name and icon.
@matthewberman Indeed, they don't third-party apps that use their API. But I'm not using their API, my app is just a wrapper around their own WhatsApp Web. I don't interfere at all with the communication/connection to their servers. I hope they don't consider this a violation too.

I see you added the unofficial @aluxian and changed the logo. I thought for a sec that Facebook got to you and sent a cease and desist. It left two instances of the program on my laptop though.
@stacyannhayles I have not been contacted by Facebook/WhatsApp. I really wish they did contact me, though. I want to know whether they're ok with it or not. I'm in the process of changing the name and the icon. What OS are you using?
the web view is a great added feature that I have been waiting for. Still a number of product improvements that I think the team can make that I wrote about here:
