The framing of AI people building for mortgage vs mortgage people trying to build AI is such a sharp distinction. The loan origination process is one of those areas where AI can genuinely save thousands of dollars per transaction by catching document gaps early and guiding borrowers through the process in real time. Having Penny behave like a real loan officer rather than a chatbot is the right UX choice - borrowers need confidence, not just automation. The YC backing and the founders coming from mortgage families (Freddie, Fannie, FHA) gives this a lot of credibility. Nice launch!
