HeptabaseThe visual note-taking tool for learning complex topics.
4.6 (34 reviews)

When you are a team lead or consultant dealing with intricate architectures, deep client research, or multi-layered strategies,
a linear Notion doc just doesn't work. You need to see how the dots connect. Heptabase is where the
actual 'deep work' and sense-making happens. It allows you to visually map out structured documents and heavy research, turning fragmented ideas into a clear mental model. Using spatial tools made one thing incredibly clear to us:
the best decisions (and the best AI outputs) require a workspace where you can actually see and structure your thinking first. If your job relies on synthesizing complex data into clear execution, visual knowledge tools like Heptabase are a total superpower.

FiberyYour company's operating system
5.0 (37 reviews)
Also considered:
We love Fibery - it's really our OS for almost everything from task tracking to CRM, product planning and a lot more. Before Fibery, we tried a lot of different tools to build our team OS, but nothing really came close. Most tools are either too rigid, too messy, or force you into someone else's way of working.
The flexibility to shape things around is the best part about Fibery. On top of that, their team is incredibly responsive and active.

superwhisperExtremely accurate, voice to text for Mac & iPhone
4.9 (20 reviews)
Also considered:
SuperWhisper has been a friction-killer in our development process and content-heavy AI creative work. When the amount of thought you want to share with AI is large, typing becomes too slow, and the act of writing often filters out the nuance and complexity of your original ideas. We’ve used SuperWhisper to capture raw, high-fidelity context at the speed of speech.
It works well even in the free version, is very fast in the paid version, runs locally, and has an easy, no-fuss installation on Mac. The interface is nice, and it captures text accurately. If you’re a lead, product manager, or developer who feels like your ideas get lost due to “typing fatigue,” this is the closest thing to a direct brain-to-digital link. It’s a superpower for anyone who needs to capture rich context and fight against AI slop and generic output.

PostHogLiterally every piece of SaaS that a product engineer needs
5.0 (204 reviews)
PostHog looked a bit geeky and intimidating at first, but because illumi is horizontal by design, we really had no choice but to get serious about user behaviour. We do not have one clear industry, geography, or persona pattern yet. We just have a lot of people who think in complex ways and need a better workspace.
That means product usage is one of the only real signals we can trust.
The documentation is detailed, the AI helper actually saves time, and once we got over the initial learning curve, we ended up going much deeper with it than expected!

MiroThe visual collaboration platform for every team
4.9 (105 reviews)
As a decision-maker, I’ve often felt buried under 'dead' documents - strategy specs and plans that are outdated the moment they’re shared. Miro was the only tool that actually helped us bring the team up-to-date in real-time.
We kept it simple - mostly just a forest of sticky notes - because when you’re solving complex tasks, you don't need complexity in the tool. That straightforwardness is exactly what helped us move from abstract planning to concrete decisions. If you’re a lead trying to cut through the noise of stagnant docs, Miro is still the gold standard for that initial 'unlock' moment.
