Fifteen people. Fifteen minutes. Roughly ninety seconds of information.
The format's failure is structural, not cultural. You're asked what you did yesterday at the exact moment you're least able to answer before coffee, from memory, in front of an audience. So everyone reports the ticket they had open, because that's the retrievable answer. The actual texture of the day, the part where you'd learn something about how the sprint is really going, is gone.
The thing that's worked better for us: declaring intent in the morning instead of reporting history. "Here's what I'm picking up today" takes ten seconds, is answerable without memory, and produces something you can compare against reality at 6pm. Plan versus done, written down, no meeting.
Where it falls apart is that plan-versus-done is only useful if nobody's judged on the gap, the moment it becomes a scorecard, everyone starts declaring safe plans.
@dhirajwohra Thank you for the support and good wishes! We’re exploring enterprise use cases while keeping Meridian private and developer-first.
This is such a meaningful product! I would love to see it expand to other departments to help make sense of the day. Do you have any plans in this direction perhaps?
@mad94 Thanks for the thoughtful question! We are starting with developers, but we see potential for Meridian to help other departments too. Which department or workflow did you have in mind?
I was always reluctant to post, but wanted to do Day 1, Day 2 kind of post for #buildinpublic,
With Meridian, finally I can do it , glad to discover the product.
@hargobind_gupta Glad Meridian makes it easier to share your build-in-public journey. Looking forward to your Day 1 post!
nobody is going to believe that I actually got something done while just being at my macbook all day long. :)
@nico Meridian will bring the receipts :)
i've been doing such notes manually so definitely will give Meridian a try!
@hello_yar Thanks for giving Meridian a try! Hope it saves you from having to write those notes manually.
Oh, this is literally a dream! By the evening, I don’t even remember what I did all day, and it’ll just write everything up for me!
@idahansen Glad Meridian can help you remember where the day went without having to write it all down yourself!
Congrats to the team on the launch! Is there MCP support for connecting to Notion databases, for example?
