- NovaVoice is a desktop application for macOS and Windows no hardware, no waitlist, no vaporware. It is live and free to download today.
- NovaVoice is not just a dictation tool. It eliminates the three most common friction points in a knowledge worker's day: switching to ChatGPT to process a thought, switching apps to send a message, and the gap between how fast you think and how fast you can type. It addresses real daily pain, not a hypothetical one.
- The product is built around a single insight: the interface should disappear. Hotkey activation, context-aware formatting that matches the app you're in, a popover that applies any AI prompt to any text on screen the experience is designed to feel like an extension of thought, not a tool you have to manage.
- The formatting engine lets users define rules in plain language: "make it sound like my grandpa" with a reference attached, or "always output send-ready emails when I dictate in Mail."
As someone who loves WhisprFlow but can't work with it, coz it's not fast and understanding enough (I am suprised too), I am very hopeful here!

@dowhatmatter Thanks for your comment, Dmitry.
We pay much attention to our dictation quality.
Although we now have some friction with speed, which we are solving, we are 100% sure about our quality in different languages, names, abbreviations, and instant language switching mid-sentence.
I hope you will give it a try and see what I'm talking about. By the way, feel free to reach out or book a demo through a button on our landing page. I will host a one-on-one onboarding session for you.

@dowhatmatter Hi Dmitry, thanks! Happy to share - one of our planned updates is making dictation even faster :) Stay tuned!
Congratulations on the launch! I’ve been testing it out and the Q&A is incredibly snappy, but I’m hitting a small snag with the Assistant actions. When I trigger an action, it gets stuck on "Running tools" and won't let me click confirm. Is there a trick to getting those voice commands to execute? Keep up the great work!

@kevin_xu01 Hi Kevin, thanks for your comment!
Could you please share some screenshots with us at hello@novavoice.app?
Because to be honest, we've never faced this problem while confirming the running tools.
The "execute actions without switching apps" claim is the interesting one. What's the actual scope of that? Like can I say "add this email address to my HubSpot contact" while I'm in Gmail, or is it more like "open Spotify, play my focus playlist"? Those are very different levels of useful for a knowledge worker.

@sounak_bhattacharya Hi Sounak, thanks for your question.
Here are some of the use cases that we already handle:
ask somebody about something in WhatsApp / Telegram.
We draft a message, we open the window of the app, you just press send.
It also works with Gmail.
You can post into your X account by voice from any screen. For example, say, "Post on X that I'm launching them this week." We open X, we draft the post, you only hit "post" button.
That also works with Calendar and Todoist app.
So we have some useful use cases already, and we are going to make more of them.
App is slow and laggy. I don't understand why this entire community is so quick to jump on things, give it praise, and not even test it out. It takes forever for the initial popup to start, and then the transcription takes significantly longer than Whisperflow. Good attempt. Better feature set for sure. Will revisit at some point.

@david_rocker Thanks for your comment and honest feedback, David.
It's obvious that we are an early stage product and things are not as shaped as in products who secured more than 80 million in funding:)
But we are constantly shaping the product, and we know that our weak points now are the speed and the UX friction.
But the main point is that core features are already working and working quite good.
I would be happy to onboard you personally once we shape the speed to show you what's the difference between us and competitors, and that we are worth trying.
guys, we've been using Wispr flow, how are you guys different?
NovaVoice
@rustam_khasanov This is really cool, and especially the first one where you are context-aware is very helpful.
NovaVoice
@tony_shishov so far most of our wispr flow is just one app - codex. however the context aspect is useful when we start using voice across apps. happy to try it out once we are more voice first across apps
Congrats on the launch guys. Test it compared to wispr flow. Wondering will you offer lifetime offer? Thats what im most interested in right now.

Downloaded NovaVoice and went through the full onboarding flow.
The onboarding modal covers Voice Dictation in four steps, that's the right structure. But the Next button is below the fold on the first screen, with nothing indicating you need to scroll. Most users read what's visible, don't see a path forward, and close it. That's a skip before they've even learned the one shortcut that makes the whole product work.
Home screen after onboarding is empty, zero dictated words, no request history, no last actions.
The Option+A shortcut is shown at the top, but there's no prompt to actually use it. The screen is built to reflect an established habit, but there's nothing bridging the gap between I just installed this and the first real dictation. That gap is where most new users will decide this isn't for them.
How are users currently getting to their first successful dictation? Is there a guided action anywhere in the flow, or is that entirely on the user after onboarding ends?
