At Skinive we want to raise awareness of fight against skin diseases and provide people with simple&affordable solution for their early detection. Skinive helps users monitor skin's health by analyzing images of moles, rash, spots and other issues.
Reviews praise quick scans, clear reports, and a friendly UI that helps users track changes and decide when to see a doctor. Many applaud the mission and affordability, calling it useful for routine checkups and early flags. Some raise concerns: occasional misclassification, ad-like messaging, dataset transparency, and the need for clearer guidance on medical limits and performance on darker skin tones. Overall sentiment is strongly positive about convenience and education. One user mentions using a separate psoriasis aid, Lamp that treats the whole body in 2 minutes.
What I think is good:
1. Design/UI
2. Idea behind the project
What I don't like:
1. You should disclose the source of your datasets. Just a reminder, the ISIC datasets are not intended for commercial use.
2. You should be careful when specifying your sensitivity information, as people may rely on it and, in the worst case scenario, die. According to your accuracy report, the whole thing was not tested under real conditions, i.e. NEW photos taken with the smartphone. From our own experience, these results differ greatly from those from cleaned datasets.
3. You indicate on your website under the heading ''Stay healthy & be safe ❤️'' that your product is GDPR compliant. Many people will mistake this for a medical clinical validation of your project, which it is not. This is misleading. Human lives are at stake here, such tricks should not be used.

Thank you for taking the time to provide your feedback on the Skinive App. We appreciate your insights, and we take your comments seriously as they help us improve our service and address important concerns.
We're pleased to hear that you find the design and user interface of the app appealing, and that you appreciate the concept behind the project.
Below I'm happy to answer your questions:
1. We understand the importance of transparency in our datasets. Our core dataset consists of anonymized data collected from users of our products, as well as publicly available and appropriately licensed images, and we ensure that their use complies with all relevant legal and ethical standards.
2. We acknowledge the responsibility that comes with providing health-related information. It's important to clarify that our app is intended for informational purposes and should not replace professional medical advice.
We continuously work to improve the accuracy and reliability of our system under various conditions, including real-world scenarios. You can also learn more by using the link https://skinive.com/skinive-accu... to learn more.
In the article https://skinive.com/skinivemd-re..., you can see that before our end-user product reached the general public, it was extensively tested and validated with medical professionals. Aslo right now we are preparing to conduct clinical trials, the results of which will definitely be presented to the general public both in our company blogs and in scientific journals.
In the meantime, you can familiarize yourself with already published articles in scientific journals:

3. Thank you for noticing, at the same time GDPR compliant primarily pertains to the handling of personal data and user privacy. It doesn't imply medical validation. We value the trust our users place in us and strive to be as clear and transparent as possible.
It is also important to realize that our product is a medical device that has CE Mark and ISO 13485, which indicates quality and compliance with all necessary requirements from the regulators. I notice we are annually audited, where we receive high marks.
We appreciate your feedback, and we will use it to enhance our app and communication. Our mission is to provide valuable tools while ensuring the safety and well-being of our users.

Very happy the product came up on the voting list! I am so excited about the potential of Skinive! This incredible app has the power to be a total game-changer, especially when it comes to sensitive or awkward skin concerns. In the past, I've felt shy or insecure about asking other people for advice, but with Skinive, it will be so easy to get the answers and guidance I need. I'm especially looking forward to the app's ability to provide a detailed report about potential skin conditions based on a photo. This feature has the potential to help people identify and address issues that they may not have felt comfortable discussing with others. It's amazing to think about how much Skinive can empower people to take control of their skin's health and well-being with confidence! Thank you, Skinive, for creating such an innovative and exciting service.

I have been following the guys for a long time and I am very happy for them!
Skinive is a mobile application that uses artificial intelligence and computer vision technology to provide personalized skincare recommendations. The app claims to analyze users' skin conditions through their selfies and then suggests products and routines based on their unique skin type and concerns.
The user interface of the app is user-friendly and intuitive, making it easy to navigate and use. The first step is to take a selfie, and the app will automatically detect the skin type and recommend skincare products and routines accordingly.
One of the notable features of the app is the ability to track users' progress by taking follow-up selfies, allowing them to see the results of their skincare routine and adjust it accordingly.
However, it is important to note that while the app provides personalized skincare recommendations, it is not a substitute for a dermatologist's advice. If users have severe skin conditions, it is always best to seek professional advice.
Overall, Skinive is a useful mobile application for those looking to improve their skincare routine and achieve healthy, glowing skin. The app's AI technology makes it easy to get personalized recommendations, and its user-friendly interface makes it easy to use for anyone.

Thank you for your continued support, and we look forward to hearing your feedback 👍🏻
Very cool telehealth app with an important mission! How does Skinive go about recommending treatment or prescribing care? Are you investing in options to partner with insurance companies to offer for free or at a reduced cost through insurance to policy holders?
Can't wait to try it once available in the US.
@elissa_craig Thank you for your positive feedback on our idea and interesting questions. Let me answer them:
1. Skinive does not prescribe treatment: only a doctor can do this duty by law now. Skinive gives an assessment of the risk of disease and, if a risk is identified, advises which doctor to consult and
2. Yes, we are committed to ensuring that Skinive's AI screening and online consultation services are covered by insurance.
3. we are making sure our app is available worldwide 🕊
@elissa_craig Thank you very much for your support 🙂
I would also like to point out that during 2023-2024 one of our main tasks will be to get FDA approval to start operations and after that we will be available in the USA!
Stay tuned!
@dmitry_sytsevich There are many roles in our team and I think every team member has an opinion on what was most difficult.
The biggest challenge for me as CEO at the beginning of the project was to find funding to develop and validate the technology. Now the biggest challenge is to reach international markets and commercial success 😉
@dmitry_sytsevich Development and certification took approximately five years, and it was a challenging and arduous journey. But we realise that there are more challenges ahead. Let's have some fun! 🙂
@frida_lee Yes, of course the quality of the camera and the process of taking pictures affects the accuracy of the answer. Please follow the instructions that the app prompts you.
@frida_lee We have trained our technology on more 200,000 images of varying qualities, indicating its significant adaptability to different conditions.
However, it's important to note that the camera used must meet certain requirements. For optimal results, we recommend using an iPhone 8 or Android 8.0 or higher.
Hello!
Congratulations with the launch, wish you good luck!
I'll recommend the app to my team.
I have a question: is it possible to use it on old devices? My father have rather old device with not very good camera. Can he use Skinive?
@dzianis_yatsenka Unfortunately, on older smartphones the result may not be convincing. The accuracy of the recognition depends on the quality of the picture.
@dzianis_yatsenka Thank you for your question. It's important to note that the camera used must meet certain requirements. For optimal results, we recommend using an iPhone 8 or Android 8.0 or higher.
@richard_gao2
Thank you for your question. It's more about skin health and identifying diseases rather than cosmetic issues like wrinkles and lack of hydration. Check our website for more details - https://Skinive.com
Very nice product and mission! Since you show the skin problem probabilities, I imagine your classifiers have to be well-calibrated. Could you share a bit about how trustworthy the probabilities are and how you deal with calibration?
@mpmisko Thank you for the important question. You can see our accuracy report on our website - https://skinive.com/skinive-accu....
To calibrate the classifier we continuously test it in our lab and keep track of the percentage of false positives/false negative rates.
Of course the accuracy can be worse if the photo is taken incorrectly (wrong distance, bad light, foreign objects, etc.). We try to familiarise our users with the instructions for use. We're also constantly improving the performance of the AI camera, which tells users in real time how to get the highest quality images
