Break free from caffeine dependency with a science-backed program. Daily check-ins, withdrawal tracking, and compassionate support through every phase of your journey.

Hey! I got fascinated by caffeine withdrawal science after spending time in communities like r/decaf. Turns out the "2-9 day" timeline you see online is way off. Real recovery has 5 distinct neurological phases, backed by research from Huberman, Walker, and Griffiths.
Most people fail not because of willpower, but because they don't know what to expect. So I built Uncaf to fix that.
It walks you through each phase with daily check-ins, mood/energy/sleep tracking, and tools like breathing exercises for when cravings hit. If you slip up, no shame. The science shows one cup doesn't erase your progress.
Core recovery tools are completely free. Premium adds deeper analytics, streak protection, and weekly summaries.
Available on iOS and Android. Would love your feedback!

Really love the science driven approach here.
Framing recovery in phases makes it feel much more realistic and less scary.
The no shame philosophy is powerful too.
How have users responded to the phase based model so far?
Thanks so much, that really means a lot.
One thing weβve noticed is that people feel relieved when they understand their symptoms arenβt random. When they know βthis is phase 2β or βthis anxiety spike is expected,β they stop blaming themselves.
The phase model seems to reduce panic more than anything. It gives structure to something that usually feels chaotic.
Still early, but that clarity seems to be what resonates most.

Hey Hatomugi-San !!
Love the concept! Breaking free from caffeine is
something so many people struggle with but rarely
talk about.
I'm curious β how do you track progress? Is it
based on self-reporting or does it connect with
any health data?
I'm building Tomosu, a digital wellbeing app that
helps people be more intentional with their phone
usage. We're both trying to help people break free
from habits they didn't choose β yours is caffeine,
mine is screen time. Cool to see another "positive
approach" to behavior change π

Thank you! And I love what youβre building too.
Right now progress is primarily self-reported. Users log mood, energy, sleep quality, and symptoms daily. I intentionally kept it simple because awareness is more important than perfect biometric precision in early recovery.
In the future, Iβm considering optional health data integrations, but the core idea is helping people understand their internal patterns.
Totally agree β whether itβs caffeine or screen time, the goal is conscious choice rather than punishment.
Nice to see another positive approach from Japan π
The phase naming β Mist, Dawn, Stream, Canopy, Summit β is a really thoughtful touch. It turns what could be just a day counter into a narrative you actually want to progress through. As a solo developer myself, I know how tempting it is to keep things purely functional, so I respect the effort to make the experience feel meaningful. Congrats on shipping on both platforms!
Thank you so much! The phase names were actually one of the decisions I agonized over the most. Early versions just had "Day 1-7, Day 8-14..." and it felt so clinical β like a medical chart, not a journey.
The idea was that quitting caffeine already feels like an uphill battle, so the least the app can do is make each stage feel like you're moving through something, not just surviving it. Mist β Summit is meant to mirror how your mental clarity actually evolves.
And huge respect for the solo dev life β it's a wild ride but there's nothing like shipping something that's fully yours. What are you working on?
