Build AI agents by describing your task in plain English. Vellum turns it into a working agent you can run on a schedule, trigger via API, or use through a UI. No code, no setup; just automation you understand and control.
I've been using Vellum to automate many of my daily routine tasks like processing multiple docs, analyzing transcripts and preparing me for customer calls. I've been playing with Cursor, Claude Code and by far this gives be a good medium of control, ease of use and honestly visibility in what the agent is doing. 10/10 recommend it
Hey Product Hunt 👋 Akash here, Co-Founder and CEO of Vellum.
Last year AI Agents finally started working for our engineers. Cursor, Devin, Claude Code gave them real leverage. Meanwhile, the rest of us are stuck in the same loop since 2023: lots of ChatGPT tabs, lots of context switching, not much has changed.
That gap bothered me.
If AI agents are this powerful, why do they only really work for engineers?
Introducing Vellum 🎉
Just explain the task you want to automate in plain English and Vellum turns that into a working agent. Vellum asks follow up questions to understand your requirements, connects to your tools, handles the logic, and makes the agent’s behavior visible so you’re never guessing what it’s doing or why.
Once you build your agents, you have a few ways to use them:
run the agent through a ready made UI
vibe code your own UI with one of our integrations (e.g. Lovable)
run it on a schedule or trigger it through APIs or app events
How is Vellum different
You start with the process you already own. Describe the task and Vellum builds an agent that automates it. There is no code and no setup to learn.
Agents work from day one. With the right context, Vellum can build the full workflow in one pass instead of hours of tweaking.
Logic changes do not create chaos. When something breaks or the process changes, you fix one step without rebuilding everything.
Built for safe automation. You can preview each step, review past runs, and know exactly what happened before letting it run on a schedule.
Who is this for?
If you have tried AI tools that almost work, built prompts you do not fully trust, or hesitated to automate because you are not sure what will happen…
Vellum is built for you.
It is for Sales, Marketing, Product Ops, and Customer Support teams who own their processes and want to automate them in a way they understand and trust.

@akash_sharma53 Hi Akash, this looks interesting; good luck for the launch today. I'd be keen to find out how you handle context/state over multiple sessions and user ignorance (engineering/architecture/design principles); just because a user thinks loops are cool isn't a reason to build them into code. Does the model reveiew against anything and gently correct?

@akash_sharma53@zolani_matebese Hey Zolani, thanks for the question. Our Agents support a concept of State, which is essentially a key/value store that the Agent can read and write to. This state can also be loaded automatically in future executions of the Workflow by passing in the identifier of a previous execution.
@akash_sharma53 Not gonna lie, I’m kind of excited for this. First task I’m tackling: make my calendar a little less chaotic. Let's see if it can keep up!

@akash_sharma53@abod_rehman Let us know how it goes! This is a great use-case; we've seen a handful of people build creative automations with their calendars. Meeting prep notes / post-call briefs, meeting reorganization, even some people automatically generating custom demos before calls. Vellum shines in bringing many different datasources together
The ability to preview each step and review past runs stood out. Curious which of these features ends up being most important for building trust with non-technical users.
@shreya_chaurasia19 thank you! Please let us know if we can be helpful once you try it

Cursor, Devin, Claude code have opened the door of vibecoding, this tool triggers a move into the zone, also l predict tools like Vellum'll definitely make "vibemarketing" more effective! Could we say that Vellum is claude+ N8N or is it broader ?
@eren_kiratli yeah you could say that. It's easy to start like Claude, and has powerful logic like n8n

All the best with the launch, just signed up! I am curious about voice integrations, as I did not find any integrations for telephony based agents. Is voice in your roadmap or is the focus mostly on tasks, workflows and text automations for now?
@mustassim - users end up using text to speech and speech to text models before/after Vellum for voice use cases. Primary usage at the moment is text and automations though.

this makes AI agents feel way more approachable. nice work 👏 any plans to add templates for common workflows?

Oh cool, official launch. I found this tool via Reddit last week, and had 1 simple agent going. What are some other marketing agents that I can build?
A lot of teams can already automate tasks with workflow tools plus an LLM step—what’s the sharp line where a “plain-English agent” is materially better than a classic automation?
@curiouskitty great question! For me personally it's much faster and easier to build any agent (or automation with an LLM step) with Vellum. It just takes care of the the "visual drag-&-drop", and also the error-fixing part from my plate
