Great app! I wish I could help with the idea. It would be great it had relations for lookup data as Notion, and an easiest way to copy paste or display images. So far it’s been a pleasure using it!

Anton Pronkin

Thank you! Really happy to hear it’s been a pleasure to use.

Lookups and more powerful relations are coming — we’re reworking Lists next, and that includes proper rollups/relations and better ways to structure connected data.

Improved image handling (copy/paste, display options) is also on our roadmap — we know it needs to get smoother.

Thanks again for the feedback — it helps us a lot!

LOVE anytype! migrated from notion and never looking back after getting a sudden ban (on notion) and everything deleted without explanation or warning.

Anton Pronkin

Thank you — and wow, sorry you had to go through that. Sudden bans and data loss are exactly the kinds of situations we want to make impossible.

Really glad you found a home in Anytype. Your data is yours — full stop.

Wow, Anytype looks amazing! Love the local-first approach and how it tackles data ownership. How does the peer-to-peer sync handle conflicting edits on the same document when offline? Super curious!

Anton Pronkin

Thank you! Happy you like the local-first approach — it’s at the core of everything we build.

We use a peer-to-peer protocol we developed in-house called Any-Sync. It’s built on CRDTs, so devices can edit offline and then merge changes automatically when they reconnect. If two people edit the same block at the same time, CRDTs resolve it deterministically — no overwriting entire documents.

If you’re curious, you can read more in our documentation: sync.any.org

Or more philiosophical view: https://positivesum.any.org/p/local-first-versus-the-cloud

Always happy to dive deeper!

@pronkin_ Aweseome. Thanks for the quick and in depth explanation. I will surely check out the documentation. I am hunting next week, would love to have you guys check out my product as well! :)

Anton Pronkin

@jaydev13 Yep. Happy to check it out!

When using checkboxes, an option to delete checked boxes only would be useful vs having to delete each item independently

Anton Pronkin

Good point — thanks for raising it. Bulk actions for checkboxes (like deleting all checked items at once) are on our list. We want to make Lists and tasks much smoother to work with in general.

Hello, any plans for a web client so AnyType can be accessed in windows corporate machines, where sometimes even a simple (no admin rights required) exe file can't be run?

Anton Pronkin

Great question — and I completely understand the pain. Corporate Windows environments can be very locked down, and not being able to run even a simple exe is a real blocker.

A web client is something we’d love to offer eventually, but with our local-first and encrypted architecture it’s technically very hard to do well. It will come at some point, but not soon.

Wish I had a faster answer here — thank you for your patience and for raising it.

ed

Nice, thanks for understanding and and a clear, honest explanation, appreciate it!

Congratulations on this launch! I've been using Anytype for almost a year now, started off as a great "zero-noise" environment for gathering my thoughts. Now as a new Professor, this tool has become more of a multi-tool and a new way for me to teach my students!

Anton Pronkin

Thank you so much! Really glad to hear Anytype started as a quiet place to think and grew into a proper multi-tool for your work.

And using it in your teaching — that’s incredibly motivating for us. If you ever want to share how you use it with students or what would make that experience even better, we’d love to hear it.

Thanks again for being with us on this journey.

Question, last time I checked there was a thread about page/content transclusion. Basically taking content from different notes/pages and include the content into another page or note. I think this was put in the back burner, but was wondering if this was something that could be available in the future.

And last but not least, great product, keep up with the great work.

Anton Pronkin

Thank you — really appreciate the kind words.

And yes, content/page transclusion is coming. It was on the back burner for a while, but it’s now part of the Editor 2.0 project we’re planning for 2026. That update will bring proper embedding, referencing, and a much more flexible editing model.

Thanks again for checking in — and for sticking with us.

You've built something that keeps my game design chaos from spiraling into complete entropy—and trust me, between running a two-year Shadowrun campaign, juggling multiple projects, and trying to explain mechanics to programmers, that's no small feat. Your tool is the only reason my friends still tolerate my increasingly elaborate session notes and why my documentation doesn't look like a conspiracy theorist's cork board. Seriously, thank you for making something that actually gets how creative work actually works—messy, interconnected, and never quite fitting into traditional folders. You're doing the lord's work, and my players have no idea how much smoother their experience is because of you.

Anton Pronkin

Wow 💕 — thank you for this. What a message.

Hearing that Anytype is helping you keep a Shadowrun campaign, game design chaos, and multi-project documentation from turning into pure entropy… that’s exactly the kind of creative mess we built it for.

The way you describe it — messy, interconnected, never fitting into traditional folders — that’s the world we want to support. If Anytype is making your players’ experience smoother (and keeping the conspiracy-board energy under control), then we’re doing something right.

Really appreciate you sharing this — it means a lot to the whole team. Keep building wild worlds.

I started looking around for a productivity app that could serve several different ends some time ago, and never managed to find one that really worked well for all of them, with the result that I simply stopped using them after a while. Then I saw a mention of Anytype on a Reddit forum, and was intrigued. What I really liked was the ability to create objects and structures the way I wanted them, with the constraints that I wanted, without sacrificing flexibility where I wanted it. So far I've set up a task manager, scheduler and information repository for myself and family members; a space for sharing key documents, other information and news for the committee of a botanical society I'm involved with; a space for me to manage my other botanical activities; a space to document procedures to share and validate botanical data between different organisations and databases, and publish new botanical records for my county; and a collaborative editor and reviewing system for a new Flora for my county, complete with help files and predefined new object types to ensure consistency of content (this is the one with the most rigorous structure).

Having the Chats facility available within these spaces really moves these projects forwards, and I look forward to being able to rationalise a lot of communications that currenty take place through several different routes and with very little way to organise their content.

Keep up the good work!

Anton Pronkin

Thank you — this is incredible to read.

It’s amazing to see how you’ve shaped Anytype across so many domains: family organisation, society committees, botanical data workflows, and even a full collaborative system for producing a county Flora. That’s exactly the kind of structured-but-flexible use we dream about when designing anytype.

Really glad Chats is helping move those projects forward — unifying scattered communication is one of the biggest things we hope it enables.

Thanks again for sharing your setup and for the encouragement. It means a world to the team.

awesome promo video and the intention behind Anytype to be a privacy-friendly information hub. Great job

Anton Pronkin

Thank you Yousuf! Means a lot. It’s much easier to grind when there’s a real sense of purpose behind.
