Congratulations! This is one of my most used apps.

One of my uses is to keep a Journal. I just have one ask, please consider adding dynamic tags for templates.. for example [[today]], or [[mm, dd, yyyy]] in a template will resolve in the date, and if they can be used in a title field would be a bonus.

Thank you for the great work on this app.

Anton Pronkin

Thanks so much — happy to hear it’s one of your most used apps.

Dynamic tokens in templates (like [[today]] or date formats, including in titles) are on our list for upcoming template/automation improvements. That’s exactly the kind of thing we want to support for journals.

Really appreciate the suggestion.

Henry

@pronkin_ Thank you Anton. These updates will greatly enhance the journaling aspect of Anytype. Another thing I found myself doing is writing time stamps for entries. A nice to have would be the short cmd to output time.. for example @time or @now would output current time, like 1:24PM etc. Thanks again for the great work you guys are doing.

I absolutely love using this application.
From the UI to the functionality, everything feels smooth and intuitive.
I use it daily to keep track of different stages in my workspace.

One obstacle I'd like to see addressed is ecosystem syncing.
For example, if I set a query to display a Kanban or Calendar view on Desktop, I’d like the same view to automatically apply when I switch to mobile.

Speaking of Kanban and Calendar — when can we expect to see these features available on mobile?

Anton Pronkin

Thank you — really happy to hear you’re using it daily and that the UI/flow feels good.

You’re right about views: having Kanban/Calendar stay consistent across desktop and mobile is important, and it’s something we’re working toward.

No hard date yet, but it’s on the way — not a “someday” wish.

Appreciate you calling this out — it’s exactly where we’re heading.

Anytype has been my project / knowledge manager for work since 2023. I've been there and done that, all that: Evernote, OneNote, Springpad (and other faithfully departed), Toodledo, plain .txt, plain .md + tweaked file managers + my own note-processing scripts, Logseq, and way many others that didn't pass the 2 week test.

Right now, it's Notion for personal, and Anytype for work. For work, because I can avoid cloud sync completely and sync peer-to-peer, thus complying with company policy (my current company doesn't even allow Notion).

Even though I use it just personally, the addition of Chats, and the way they are integrated in the rest of the environment, makes perfect sense to my workflow, because I can treat chats as inboxes to help me process my flow of thought.

Anton Pronkin

Thank you for sharing this — love hearing how Anytype fits into your workflow so naturally.

We built it exactly for cases like yours, where cloud just isn’t an option but flexibility and speed still matter. And yes, using chats as inboxes is a powerful pattern — glad it clicks for you.

Appreciate you being with us on the journey.

Wenn du weitere Ideen hast, immer gern her damit!

I found Anytype about 6 months ago while looking for a offline first alternative to Notion. I've since found the flexible custom object types are very powerful, and the Anytype team moves at a fast pace to continue to add new functionality. I also appreciate their community engagement. Keep it up!

Anton Pronkin

Thank you so much! Glad you discovered us on that journey — local-first is a hill we’re definitely willing to die on.

Happy you’re finding custom object types powerful. They’re a big part of the vision, and we’re doubling down on them with the upcoming Lists overhaul.

And thanks for noticing the pace and community engagement — it means a lot to the team. We’ll keep pushing!

I am really excited about anytype and its future. I have been using Anytype for many years. Anytype with it's unique and critical feature sets which no other notes app provides.

One feedback: anytype can be quite ovewhelming and complicated for new users. Prioritizing on simplifying and providing good templates and use cases will help anytype to expand its reach.

Anton Pronkin

Thank you — really means a lot, especially coming from someone who’s been with us for years.

And you’re right: Anytype can feel overwhelming at first. We’re working on this now — simplifying the first-run experience, improving defaults, and building better templates and use-case guides so new users don’t hit a wall.

Your feedback is spot on and very helpful. Thanks for sticking with us all this time.

Wonderful product that respects your privacy. If anything it does too much and can be overwheming! I think Ive replaced 3 apps wit it. Thank you for the hard work.

Anton Pronkin

Thank you! Really glad to hear it’s already replacing a few apps for you.

And yes — we know it can feel overwhelming at first. We’re working on simplifying the onboarding and defaults so the power doesn’t get in the way for new users.

Appreciate the kind words — it keeps us going.

I've been using Anytype almost daily in 2025 and I really think it's an amazing tool. Big plus is that's made in EU.

Anton Pronkin

Thank you! Really glad to hear it’s become part of your daily workflow. EU ❤️

Question, last time I checked there was a thread about being able to transclude or include the content of a page in another page. I think this functionality was put in the back burner, and I was wondering if this is something that we could see in the future.

Last but not least great product, keep up with great work.

Anton Pronkin

Thank you — really appreciate the kind words.

And yes, content/page transclusion is still planned. It was on the back burner for a bit, but it’s now part of the Editor 2.0 work we’re preparing for 2026. That update will bring proper embedding, referencing, and more flexible ways to reuse content across pages.

Thanks again for checking in — and for supporting the project.

I love that Anytype exists, and I use it lightly. I haven't yet figured out how it can replace Notion since there's enough difference between the two apps that it will take some adjustment on my part. Thanks for what you do! We need privacy-focused alternatives.

Anton Pronkin

Thank you — really appreciate this.

Totally understand the “adjustment” part. Anytype isn’t Notion, so it can take a bit to figure out how it fits into your workflows. We’re working on better templates, guides, and migration paths to make that step easier over time.

In the meantime, even using it lightly already supports the mission of more private, independent tools — so thank you for that too.
