“Who did we work with to design the website for the podcast? Can you send me their email?” — a message that I dug up this morning from a past colleague; we worked together on a lot of projects, and regularly hired designers, engineers and UX researchers for fractional work. Maintaining our network of Independent talent, their availability, rates, preferred tools, etc, etc, was *so* tedious that we simply never got around to documenting it. Working this way in agency and consultancy environments made sourcing Independents for project based work a more time intensive and scattered experience than it needed to be. Many of the relationships established throughout the years were maintained in emails, discord channels, or slack without simple access for the rest of our team—Contra for Companies solves these problems for you and your team. Contra for Companies marks a moment in Contra’s history—our first product launch for *hiring* Independents. Our team has been working hard, partnering with a lot of exciting, innovative companies to grow, manage and pay their shared network of freelancers and contractors, all in one place. I really do believe we’ve built something that is valuable, necessary, and a joy to use. I hope you like it as much as I’ve liked being a part of building it!

Contra is by far the best job board I have tried so far, as a non-code freelancer it has allowed me to connect with projects that are quite compatible with my joint skills. Highly recommended, as well as their new releases and updates.

When I was pitched the vision for Contra for the first time, I was hooked -- it was exactly the product I would want to use myself as a long-time freelancer. It's surreal to look back on the last 3 years since our first launch and see how that vision has been made reality.
