Figma 1.0 - The first interface design tool with real-time collaboration

After nine months in closed beta, we’re stoked to open Figma up to everyone. We’re also excited to announce that our multiplayer functionality (the ability to collaborate on design files in realtime) is live.

I didn't want to be locked in but it managed to hook me eventually. It's just too good. Gotta say I'm in awe of the product.

What format can you save the designs in?
Matt Coleman
@cemedericarak You can save files as .fig files (although you don't really need to as there is built-in file management), or you can export assets as PNG. JPG, & SVG

@mattcoleman That's great! Thank you for the details! Keep up the great work!

I have to remove the Product Hunt Suffix from the URL for the website to function correctly. Using Firefox on OSX 10.11.6.

As someone who was in the beta, but didn't spend enough time on it, I'm glad it's live! Time to tell all my buddies (who am I kidding, that's 3 people on a good day) about this, just the same way I told em about Sketch (and now they all use it)

Love the new website. Figma definitely feels like the future!

Please add symbols/shared styles. It's one of my few holdouts from using this over Sketch, especially as more and more of my projects are utilizing atomic design/component methodologies. Keep up the good work!

Guys Im a Sketch kinda guy but I'm going to give Figma a go - I'm finding the App icon is putting me off !!! Its kinda terrible, potentially the best design tool on my mac now has the ugliest icon - its the stuff of nightmares

This looks like a good solution for meetings and such

I just LOVE Figma. The product continues to improve in steady and thoughtful steps. Whenever I hear of a design team using Sketch, I wonder why they aren't just using Figma!

Pros:

Google Docs for Design. Great for interaction design, realtime feedback from teammates, design system support, and simple prototypes.

Cons:

Slow for very large projects, unless you have a very fast laptop. Very limited API. No EPS import yet.

This has revolutionized how I design and engage in design communication. 🙃
