We tried using Voicera to take notes for us and it was a total flop. The transcription was… alright, I guess. I mean, how good is Siri? And then how good is Siri over a poor connection, or when multiple people are talking, or just when you aren't annunciating. Every. Single. Word. And then even if you did have an accurate transcription, that doesn't get you too far. A half-decent PM won't transcribe everything — they'll pull out the salient points, the action items and assignments, the decisions, the open issues, etc. So while I'd LOVE this to be a real thing, it's hard to be convinced we're there yet. The future will, however and as always, be neat.

@deepchand_singh Glad to here this. Looking at follow up tasks/action items inside the dashboard that are flagged is a personal fav of many users who need more efficient reminders after their calls for the day.

I’ve seen Fireflies’ product in action and was truly impressed by its ease of use and functionality. Daily conversations, meetings, client calls will become significantly more productive with features like commenting on transcripts, person to voice matching, etc. Highly recommend this to anyone to enter the future of conversation!

Pros:

@krish_ramineni congrats on the launch! I've been using sonix.ai to transcribe interview recordings, but find the quality unpredictable. A couple of the uploads have generated great transcripts that only need light editing, but some are unusable. How does Fireflies compare in terms of transcript quality?

@paulmckeever given good audio quality we are able to perform quite well (90%+) in most cases. There will always be some external variables that will be hard to control like background noise, thick accents, and people talking over each other. We optimize for most call settings. The thing to note especially is when you've had a 100 calls, people are willing to take 90% over perfect transcription when there is a 10x cost difference if you're having to hire human transcribers :)
