Given enough money, time, grit, and technology, you could theoretically build anything. If you could dedicate time to building anything what would you choose? Dyson Sphere, anyone?
Over the past few days I ve been quietly studying launches scrolling through pages, looking at upvotes, comments, follower counts, and trying to spot patterns.
Went through my notifications today and found what looked like two separate unanswered messages from the same person on the same thread. Both showed up in the notification list looking equally new.
Opened the actual thread instead of trusting the list, and one of the two already had my reply sitting under it from a few hours earlier. The notification just never went away after I answered it.
ProductHunt is great! We just launched @Builduo and crossed 100 new users in the first 16 hours. I was prepared to see only a few sign ups, but it exceeded our expectations. Some X influencer posted us on their account and that got us a huge boost too!
Ten replies in on X, still at 10 followers, so I stopped guessing and pulled the actual numbers.
The spread on real replies I posted: one got 2 views under a 1,100 view post. Another got 2 views under a 5,842 view post. One got 1,204 views, replying under a post at 1.9 million views.
Every one of them landed at roughly 0.03% to 0.17% of the parent post's reach, no matter what I wrote or when I posted it. My own follower count never showed up as a variable at all.
The harder part: even the 1,204 view reply got zero likes and zero replies back. So reach was never the actual bottleneck, whatever I said in the reply was.
I bounce between Claude Code, Cursor, Zed and a couple others depending on the project. The tool-switching itself doesn't bother me, it's losing track of stuff, like solving something in one and then not being able to find it again once I'm back in another.
Curious what actually annoys people who do this daily. Context loss? Different keybindings? Something else entirely?
