It shows that you've given this a lot of thought and made an offering that is vastly different from what currently exists and is also congruent with your mission. Very inspiring to see this created as a founder. Good luck!

The model seems to be highly reliant on people not making fraudulent claims because that money would then be taken away from a cause they care about.
a) Will people really care more about the cause than about their own pocket? If so, why not just make a direct donation to that cause?
b) Might users designate a cause that they don't really care about to avoid any feelings of guilt when over-claiming?
c) What happens if the level of claims exceeds the amount going to the designated cause? How will those claims be paid?
I'm sure that Dan has considered these questions but would be great to know how they have been addressed.
@dannyrichman Danny, great questions! We're under no illusion that we will eliminate fraud entirely. Our hope is that by reducing conflicts, aligning interests and introducing social impact, we'll be able to move the needle in a meaningful way. That would already allow us to remove the presumption of guilt and much of the hassle. In terms of question (C), we have reserves and great reinsurance partners (Lloyd's of London) to ensure there's enough money. That's how we got our A-Exceptional rating.
