Google should release new apps without mentioning Google in the product. Even though the product looks interesting, just seeing Google let's me know it's just another product that will be shut down in 6 months. Now if it was Spaces by Alphabet, maybe I'd give it more consideration...
@rfreling Agreed. So many large brands continue to make this mistake. It's not just google.

Reminds me of a combo of FB Groups and public Slack Channels. Interesting to see Google focus on messaging (gboard and now Spaces) as interfaces to get into a Google powered experience (youtube and search).
This is promising! I'm excited, my team uses Google for Work, but we communicate via Skype. Hangouts is a bit out of the comfort zone for most of the team, this might be a nice "in-between" solution for us. Sounds like a Slack competitor.

This is such a weird launch. I get what it is, but I don't understand why...
There's already so many products that offer this type of thing. It seems weird for Google to be launching this, especially when there are already Collections and Communities in Google+

Looks cool! Set up visualping.io to notify me if they make changes to the site.

Sounds cool. Seems like a supercharged version of watsapp groups and if used properly, in some ways, challenge slack too. Really excited to try it out.

Wonder how it is different from G+ Communities that serve exactly this purpose. I mean exactly the same except integrated search that could be easily done on Android & in Chrome right on the platform. Hence, no need in dedicated product. I guess it is yet another take on iOS after GBoard to have Google Search integrated into daily mobile use on iOS.

@michaelbabich This is what I was wondering. If anybody else had made this, it would be called a copy of Google+ Communities. Oh but, because Google made it, it's revolutionary tech and #1 on Product Hunt.... *sigh*

I setup a page Dead Space not really sure of the value... seems to be part of the move to just shift users from G+ onto somewhere else... I assume it's meant to counter the rise of private groups on Facebook and Whatsapp chat groups...
