We're a few thousand founders and developers helping each other start profitable online businesses. The community is a friendly place to come share our experiences and projects, get valuable feedback, swap tips, and lean on each other for support.
Indie Hackers has been an amazing source of inspiration, content, guides, feedback, and learning from others. The community is very thoughtful, which can't be said about much. When someone posts a question or a story, no one is going to comment something stupid, vague, or sarcastic. It's all super constructive and valuable.
You guys really managed to create an inclusive and supportive community. I like that you stuck to the forum format, as it really works. The amount of useful feedback and support I received during the time of my launch was amazing.
Indie Hackers is THE place to hangout and connect with like minded individuals making and shipping stuff. This is without even going into the podcast/interviews, which really show you what is possible.
I've found the IH community intensely helpful for ideation, creation and shipping. Looking forward to getting more involved. Thanks, Courtland and Channing!
Way too much great content to read it all. Definitely binge-worthy so I have to make use periodically as bootstrappers have no time. Great contributors and I'm sure lots of happy lurkers! Courtland has done an amazing job nurturing this.
Pros:
Asking all the questions bootstrappers need answered
I was looking to start an online business, and I wasn't sure that one could do it alone. I searched on the internet and found a short Reddit post on running a business as a solo. Few people commented out, saying they have such a business. Later on, I found IndieHackers, and it was like in Avatar movie: you wade through the jungle and finally discover the whole new wonderful world. But instead of blue creatures there were solopreneurs :)
