Hey PH 👋

I’m Mark, building PawChamp together with our doggo-crazy passionate team 🐾

Our mission is simple: help people become better pet parents by making professional dog training and care affordable, accessible, and science-based. Everything we do is rooted in positive reinforcement and modern, humane methods vetted and verified by dog experts.

Why we built PawChamp

As pet parents ourselves, we struggled with the same problem many face: balancing busy lives while raising happy, well-trained dogs. Traditional offline dog trainers are great (we respect their work deeply and create PawChamp with them), but not always affordable or time-convenient for everyone. At the same time, free online content is often scattered and unstructured. PawChamp brings everything together in one place.
Our website: https://paw-champ.com/producthunt
Our app: https://pawchamp.onelink.me/kbDI/ProductHunt

What PawChamp offers

1️⃣ Pawchie AI Companion - our cheerful corgi buddy 🐶 who shares safe tips, advice and everyday support and knows everything about your doggo.

2️⃣ 24/7 multilingual expert chats (FRT < 1min) with PawChamp dog experts (with seamless translation) to get professional advice, help, and nudges to keep you on track with your pup.

3️⃣ Bite-sized tutorials (texts & videos) + guided training journeys designed with dog experts = huge amount of professionally created and curated content for all kinds of issues that dog parents may have.

4️⃣ ❤️ 100% positive reinforcement - backed by science and crafted with certified dog trainers, behavior experts, nutrition specialists, and award-winning professionals with internationally recognized credentials.

5️⃣ Freemium model - a lot of content is free; premium plan unlocks Pawchie AI + expert chats + full content.

Any pet parent on Product Hunt can claim 30% discount:

1. Install the app & create an account with your email

2. Use promo code PRODUCTHUNTPC1M

We’re still early (v.1.0.0 app launched in Jan 2025), still learning, sometimes still breaking things 😅 - but we’re obsessed with making dog care more effective, accessible & fun for every pet parent.

Now my questions to you:

👉 If you’re a pet parent, I’d love to hear: what’s your biggest challenge in training or raising your dog? 🐶 Drop it in the comments - and feel free to share a photo of your pup too, would love to see them! 🐾

Theo Crewe-Read

@mark_opanasiuk Congratulations on the launch! Biggest challenge for me was stopping my boy from going up the stairs to a window that looked over the street!!

Looking forward to using the app :)

Mark Opanasiuk

@theo_crewe_read thank you! share a photo of your doggo - join the flashmob))

Theo Crewe-Read

@mark_opanasiuk I think my wifi is too slow... lord knows I tried!!

Theo Crewe-Read

@mark_opanasiuk

There we go. A king in his castle!

Sreeja Mamidala

@mark_opanasiukThis is awesome! I’ll definitely try it out with Teddy! He’s around 2 years old, we actually adopted him and we are unsure about his story, he’s such a good boy, though patience isn’t always his strong suit when it comes to staying or waiting 😅. But I’m excited to give this a try!

@mark_opanasiuk
That’s such a wonderful mission, Mark! 🐾
As a fellow dog lover, I really appreciate how you combine expert guidance, AI, and positive reinforcement in one place - it solves a real gap between offline training and chaotic online advice.

My biggest challenge as a dog parent is staying consistent with training when life gets busy - especially reinforcing good habits daily.

Kate Ramakaieva

Happy launch, team! Love the positive reinforcement concept 😻 How are experts vetted and kept current?

Margo Kravchenko
@kate_ramakaieva Thanks! 🐾 We triple‑check every expert: values, reputation, and credentials. Only those who align with our approach make the cut, and all are internationally certified.
Mark Opanasiuk

@kate_ramakaieva we were very selective when initially started to work on the app. We were lucky to partner with two dog training organisations. One of them was also teaching and training dog experts. They helped us to craft a content - video and text, tune up PawchieAI, make profound onboarding training materials for expanding experts team that work with us.

Nika

Neat idea to swap doggy for a cat in the Product Hunt logo. Really creative! :)

Mark Opanasiuk

@busmark_w_nika  thanks ! this was the idea to play around it) next image will show the day when Pawchie met Kitty ))

Nik Loniuk

@busmark_w_nika Glad you liked this idea 🙃

Mark Opanasiuk

@busmark_w_nika because it was his idea >> @loniuk

Nika

@loniuk  @mark_opanasiuk guys, you are (p)awesome :D

Mark Opanasiuk

@busmark_w_nika  internally we pronounce it as "pawsome" )) but we get it) thanks for being one of the first commenters and supporters here !

Kostiantyn Diadenko

Seeing Barney’s progress with PawChamp reminds me why I love working on this product ❤️

He’s more focused, listens better and it’s so nice watching him happy.

Kostiantyn Diadenko

If he got fingers instead of paws, he'd write to Pawchie directly, without me

Dmytro Kazanovskyi

@kdiadenko we need a comment from Barney!! 😍 Is there any chance of seeing him on video or smth? 🥹

Mark Opanasiuk

@kdiadenko  @dkazanovskyi  we can do it ) you know where to find our SMM or Video people))

Kostiantyn Diadenko

@dkazanovskyi PH doesn't let uploading videos to comments, but here's unique chance for you & our supporters to see Barney speaking via the attached link. :)

@yulia_chuzha Thanks, Yulia! We’ve heard this request a few times already — maybe it’s time to start thinking about PawChamp for Cats 😸

Yuliia Horokhova

@yulia_chuzha Hi Yulia🤗
As a cat owner, I totally think we should work on an upgraded version of our app! Let’s keep pushing this idea forward! 🤪

Mark Opanasiuk

Peter Camp

I have my lovely dog and I want to know how better to talk with my dog. I tried PawChamp, it didn't help me - too generic, slow, I have doubts in qualification of experts in the platforms as answers are not fine. I checked the team profiles, it looks like guys are based in Ukraine but marked in LinkedIn as they are in the USA, smells like scam. Are you serious ?? And I need to trust my dog to your app ?? No!

Viktoriia Stasiuk

@peter_camp_la Hey, I am Viktoriia from PawChamp support team. I will be happy to answer your question. First of all, thank you for sharing your thoughts and concerns with us. We’re truly sorry to hear that your experience with PawChamp hasn’t met your expectations. It’s clear how much you care about your dog, and we understand that you want the best resources to communicate effectively with them.

We appreciate your feedback regarding the quality of our responses, and we take all comments seriously as we strive to improve our platform. Each dog and owner relationship is unique, and we aim to provide a personalized experience tailored to your needs.

To address your concerns and provide you with the support you deserve, we’d like to offer you a free consultation with one of our dog experts. All of them are trained and experienced, and we hope that this one-on-one session will provide you with valuable insights and advice that resonate with you.

Please contact us at support@paw-champ.com so we can arrange this consultation for you.

Yuliia Horokhova

@peter_camp_la Hey Peter, thanks for being open and sharing your thoughts — we totally understand your concerns. I’m really sorry to hear the app didn’t meet your expectations.

Just to clarify — our team includes certified trainers and behavior experts from different countries, including Ukraine, the US, and the EU. We’re proud of our international background because it lets us bring together global best practices in dog training. The locations on LinkedIn reflect where some of our experts collaborate or work remotely from, not an attempt to mislead anyone.

As for the content — PawChamp isn’t meant to replace one-on-one sessions, but to give dog owners structured, science-based guidance they can follow daily. Still, your feedback about speed and personalization is super valuable, and we’re actively improving those areas right now.

Mark Opanasiuk

@peter_camp_la I am sorry for your bad expirience. Please reach support@paw-champ.com and share what was bad in experts' answers, so we can try to make things right for you.

We have our R&D office in Ukraine since this one of the best countries (even in time of war) for:
1) highly skilled developers, designers, and marketers with great English.
2) cost of dog experts is also lower than in the USA that allows to make this professional service affordable to more people worldwide.
3) in general it is much cost-efficient to make R&D there compared with local labor in the US.

As an international startup we have a local egal entities to operate legally in different regions (the EU and the US, for example).

Developer

@peter_camp_la I also noted too generic responses from so-called experts. I can find it in youtube. Their AI chat is cringe, feels like API GPT layer with prompts. Cringe 2 - I noted that they launched few years ago as app, and now they try to present themself as a new startup

Peter Camp

@developer14 If their advice leads to harm for my dog, I would consider pursuing legal remedies. Claiming a U.S. location for senior team members when they appear to be based elsewhere is a serious consumer-protection concern and may affect customers’ rights.

Developer

Guys, there’s absolutely no problem with being from Ukraine — that’s perfectly fine. The issue is indicating on LinkedIn fake location. When Mark Opanasiuk lists a U.S. location while actually working from Ukraine, it causes confusion and hurts credibility.

Mark, since you’re not in the U.S., please update your LinkedIn location to Ukraine. Simple as that — just be transparent.

Peter Camp

@developer14 @PawChamp PawChamp why are you using fake locations on LinkedIn? It’s not respectful to U.S. customers! Stop doing that. Mark should correct his LinkedIn immediately and remove the fake U.S. location. I’ve seen this before — once with a team in India that also used a fake U.S. location while actually being in India. It always ends up hurting trust and credibility.

💡 Bright idea

@PawChamp sounds amazing . You have nailed the positive reinforcement approach 🙌.

Have you thought about adding the community section where pet parents can share progress , challenges and videos of their dogs learning new tricks 🐶🐕 ? It could make the experience more engaging and supportive .

Dmytro Kazanovskyi
@farhan_nazir55 such a great idea! I think we should add it on our roadmap 🙂
Mark Opanasiuk

@farhan_nazir55 definitely! we thought about this - but little bit further down the roadmap. community building features done right are not easy...

Farhan Nazir ✪

@mark_opanasiuk That's great to know , excited what's coming next 🚀
