🎧 What music are you listening to while working?

by•

It’s Saturday, and most of us continue working anyway...

When I’m doing very intellectual tasks, I just put on my headphones - without any music - and concentrate on my thoughts.

But when I need some inspiration, or I’m doing some repetitive work, there’s always music in my ears.

Every activity has its own type of music for me:

Driving - that I can sing along to out loud while driving =D

Running / exercising - , some mixes, some energetic boosters...

Cooking - jazz playlists with favorites like , , and many more.

Working - , usually with no lyrics, so they don’t disturb my mind and help me relax and think smoother.

What about you?

What are you listening to while working, or while doing other activities?

For me it’s usually lo-fi or instrumental music while working it helps me stay focused without getting distracted

yes, the same here .. interesting, how many people are doing the same thing? =D

It’s all about house, techno, and jazz for me :)

I feel like the more I need to concentrate and focus, the slower the BPM needs to be. So it goes: techno → house → jazz.

I’m curious: what’s your go-to playlist for deep house music?

P.S. I can’t work with noise cancellation on. I find it kind of stressful. It’s hard to explain.

I have the same problem with noise cancellation.
I usually just put on regular headphones without NC.

As for the playlist, to be honest, while working I usually listen to music on YouTube. It somehow always knows exactly what I’d like to listen to next =) So I can’t really mention one specific playlist - I just start with one track and let YT’s suggestions take it from there.

Same as you when I'm really focused, total silence. The rest of the day is pretty much all video though lol

I walk back and forth between my house and my study, and on the way I have YouTube on for work stuff. And when I'm doing something repetitive, I've got a movie going on my iPad, Netflix or Prime Video. Thanks to that, I've seen pretty much every movie and series out there lol

Can you really watch a video while doing repetitive work? =)

And don’t you have any good Japanese music to share with us? =)

It depends on what kind of work I am doing. If it is writing, I need a calm space, so I do not listen to any music.

If it is designing something or "monotonous" work, it can be R&B, trance, whatever.

Lately, I discovered this young musician and love his songs –

But these days, listening to this one – .

Oh! I’m like a bird is one of my favorites! Such a throwback to school days <3 Thanks for reminding..

Lofi with no lyrics is my go-to too . The moment there's singing, I start typing the words into my work. Instrumental only keeps me on track.

What instrumentals can you recommend besides lofi?
