Awesome tool! Any chance to have a shortcut to jump not from one app to another but from one page to another inside the same app? e.g I'm using Atlassian and I want to toggle from Confluence to JIRA
Report
Never mind! I added the same account on another atlassian tab and open Confluence on that one. ;)
@rohillion good thing you found it. Shortcuts in the apps directly is a considered feature! :)

One app to rule them all and one app to find them. I was using Franz sporadically but this is much better. Unfortunately, now that I have added all the apps I use, my sidebar is cluttered and distracting. Icons for each app type (communication/design etc) with links to relevant apps might make it easier, but that will be two steps instead of one. Instead, I am finding that the search bar is my friend, which makes me think that it should be more prominent. I would get rid of the sidebar entirely and just use search & keyboard shortcuts to cycle through apps.
@rkasturi Franz and Station are working well together, Franz for personal chats and Station for professional apps.
Regarding the cluttering of the sidebar, I agree. We are working to find a solution for that. Though, don't hesitate to abuse of the search (Cmd/Ctr+T) to quickly switch between apps without having to use the dock!

@rkasturi@al3xstrat You can explore categories like "Toby", I dont mind the 2 steps insted of one scenario. What bothers me is the clutter of apps on the left. Defeats its purpose. Whats different then than a browser window?
Report
@rkasturi@al3xstrat@vabustillos Biggest differences I see are 1) not needing to run Chrome all day long and 2) instant access to multiple different instances of the same app (e.g. multiple G Suite email accounts, etc.).
Having said that, I also concur: the sidebar is very cluttered now with so many instances added.

I suggest you add in the "add aplications" section, a "suggest apps" feature so we can give suggestions of missing apps. Im enjoying the product. :D
Oh sorry @livejamie, was not supposed to be that way. You are supposed to get the download right after entering your email. Was this the case?
Report
@al3xstrat That's the point I'm making. It's scummy to gatekeep your download behind a mailing list sign up. It's also really poor for conversion rates.
@livejamie ah ok gotcha! That's the choice we made because we want to keep touch with interested people while letting them try the application.
We'll think about a different flow in the next versions, with your comment in mind!
Were you able to try the app finally? That's in the app we put all our UX energy actually :) What do you think of it?
@alwynsays I had a similar discussion with @androidlove above. Actually we are trying to address that issue w/ Station: we idle applications you have not used for some time and "pop" them as soon as you need one of them. That's transparent for the user, but it definitely has an impact on RAM and CPU, compared to other similar applications.
Let us know what you think.
Report
@al3xstrat I should have read the comments more thoroughly! I'm glad you have this issue in mind. The Station helper commands 15-19% of my CPU at any given time, along with another helper or two that range from 4-6%. This is more than VSCode, Slack and Chrome combined. For someone who cares about and needs the machine resources, I cannot use it, however sleek and useful it may be. Good luck!
@alwynsays "helper" process are actual web-application processes (your Trello, if you use Trello, etc..). So theoretically, it should use the same resources as if you had them run in Chrome.
Were you able to pin-point which application is using such resources? (you can manually kill apps via Station process manager in View > Open Process Manager).
I'd love to deep-dive w/ you on what is causing this.
Report
@alwynsays@al3xstrat I dont mind the resources issue. What i do mind is the iddle refresh....it just takes to long to refresh and that defeats its purpose.
How can i turn of the iddle function?

Why does my Avast Anti-Virus say this app Update.exe contains a virus?
@venkatesh_devale From what I can read [1] Avast's behavior shield is subject to false positive. You can decide to trust the application and "a copy of all reported files get sent to Avast for manual inspection, so any false positives won’t happen more than once".
Sorry for the inconvenience.

If you're working with multiple cloud apps I highly recommend Station, it changes your workflow so that you have way less back and forth between tabs, windows etc.
It already has 300 apps integrated and its just the start!
Pros:
Super convenient to have all your apps in one place, you become much more productive
Cons:
none!!!

Can't imagine myself getting back to working without Station, literally a no-brainer when it comes to working across a zillion different software! Keep up the good work Station!
Pros:
Keep me organized and focused throughout the day like I've never experienced before!
I've been beta testing Station for a few months now and it has become my exclusive access to the dozen of business apps I use on a daily basis ! It really solves the pain of having tabs opened everywhere and it provides very efficient workflows.
Keep up the good work and fast execution guys :)
I entered my email ID on the landing page, and Firefox Quantum crashed for a different reason. When I tried to visit that page again on Google Chrome and tried to download, the website says "{email} is already subscribed to list Station's website subscribers. Click here to update your profile." I am stuck at without being able to download now. This is bad UX.
