I think its fair to say this is a win/win for Facebook. You release a standalone app that you can now innovate on as much as you want, without the possibility of bloating Instagram or alienating the core users of ig. They've had success with detaching messenger into its own standalone app, worst case they kill it.

Why in the hell is it available just in Uruguayan apple store ?

:/ As usual it's not available for a large amount of people..

I tried to use it but when I change the account via instagram app and turn back to direct app it didn't go on with active account's direct messages. It is automatically showed me other account's DM. And you can not change it using direct.
