Solving the lost bookmarks problem with Stacks, a search engine for your bookmarks. It’s more than just a Bookmark Manager - you can save, search, share, and organize all your resources. It is a productivity tool for high-performance individuals and teams.
It's time to finally revisit what you bookmarked!
Hey Product Hunters 👋, I am Tanay. I am a software engineer building a productivity and collaboration tool for individuals and teams called Stacks.
What is Stacks?
Stacks is a search engine for your personal and shared knowledge.
I read a beautiful quote in the $100M Offers book by Alex Hormozi - "Never memorize anything you can look up" - Einstein says.
That is one of the main reasons, a lot of productive people use note-taking apps, task manager apps, and calendar apps, just so that you don't need to memorize. They are an extension of your brain, a second brain. Stacks is your second brain to help you remember everything you find online so that you don't need to remember, where is that article, cooking recipe, or an upcoming place to checkout that you would have seen on Youtube, Instagram, or any blog article.
Most of us save links, posts, and bookmarks all the time. We almost never search through them. This is because the search isn't that effective (or convenient). This inspired us to build something better - Stacks.
⚡️ Easily search for the saved bookmarks or internal documents
Stacks makes it easy to search for the saved bookmarks. You can access, search and share any and all bookmarked links without leaving your current page or switching tabs. The Dashboard simply shows up by pressing “Cntrl / CMD+ Shift + K” or by option in the context menu (right click) and hides when pressing “ESC” or clicking “X”.
🔎 See recommendations while searching on Google and other search engines
With the Stacks extension you can search on Google, Github, Dribble, Twitter, and Amazon - and almost anywhere, and the extension searches simultaneously in your saved and shared links. It provides results from shared repositories and brings recommendations from links shared by your spouses, teams, friends, and family in a simple-to-use UI alongside search results.
🏞 Save and share bookmarks with one click
Stacks makes it easy to save and share bookmarks with one click. You can use the Stacks browser extension to save any website you visit with a single click. You can also add notes with tags or use multiple collections to your bookmarks to organize them better.
You can also share your bookmarks with anyone you want, whether it’s your team, your partner, or your friends through shared repositories. You can create shared spaces where you can collaborate and exchange bookmarks with your inner circle, and your specials. You can also invite people to join your spaces or follow other spaces that interest you.
What else can you do with Stacks:
🪄 Organize your content automatically into smart collections - documents, articles, books, places (geo-tagged on a map), etc.
🤝 Collaborate on projects, ideas, feedback, and knowledge.
🔗 Build a personal library of your favorite content that reflects your values and mission.
Stacks is a powerful and easy-to-use and super-fast search engine for your bookmarks that lets you save, search, organize, and share anything you find on the web with your team, friends, and family.
Happy bookmarking! 😊
"See recommendations while searching on Google and other search engines"
<- killer feature! I've lost so many hours researching a topic on Google, finding a great resource, then going to bookmark it only to discover it's already in my bookmarks ... 🤯
@tanaylakhani is there a Zapier (or similar) API integration on the roadmap?
@daniel_barnett categories on the left are fixed. Would pinning a collection that you want on the left be a good solution to this? Ideally will place pinned collections on top of smart collections /categories

@tanaylakhani it's more so I just don't want the visual noise of a category I have zero interest in (ie stocks, books, jobs) and then yeah, ability to pin a custom collection for quick access is smart. Thanks for listening in.

This is an awesome product specially for people who hasn't had the chance to organize all their bookmarks dating back years ago, like myself. Congrats on the launch!
@aliza_cuevas1 Thank you, Aliza! Most of us have our search journey starting with Google or other search engines. We bookmarked those links, places, posts, and articles because we thought they would be useful right? It's about time they become useful.
This is a DREAM product. I have bookmarks from a decade or so organised in a very poor way. I'll definitely be giving this a try.
Just want to check with you on the privacy and security, hope everything is encrypted. Please let me know.
@bozzmob Absolutely! We are very much focused on security and all of our users' data are encrypted. Privacy is very fundamental to us. We are working with universities and companies for the shared search across teams' bookmarks. We want to make sure that Stacks is easy to use and secure tool for people to revisit their bookmarks. There was a reason you saved it in the first place right?
