Hey all! I’m Ryan and I founded Extra Thursday to fix the one thing that steals wayyy too much of our time: email. Professionals spend 2–5 hours every day in their inboxes – that’s over a quarter of the workweek! I wanted to give that time back.  How does it handle context slicing for threads with 50+ replies and attachments?

 Hey Mohsin! We're currently testing between a few oss models and gpt-5, with context ranging between 200k-400k tokens, so reading a thread with 50+ replies shouldn't be a problem. Although reading attachments is not yet supported, will be soon though!

I'm trying it straight away!

First thing i'm gonna ask is "How many newsletters do I have that I can unsubscribe to?" 😂

Hey Ryan, first, congrats on the launch! I find the idea very much relevant, specifically if one receives lots of email on a daily basis. What could potentially be beneficial (if not yet implemented or thought of): (1) email prioritization (let’s say I get 50 messages per day, it would be great to check-in once/twice a day with Extra Thursday so that it first informs me about the most important/urgent messages requiring my response/actions); (2) transforming this into a voice service would be amazing (instead of typing prompts, just talking to the app would bring it to a different level I suppose).  Thanks Pavel! (1) Thursday AI is able to help prioritize emails, just chat and ask! (2) Extra Thursday actually started as a voice AI but we've rolled it back recently in favor of building out this AI email app, but we're considering building out an improved voice interface soon.

The promise of 'chatting with my inbox' instead of drowning in it is exactly what I need. I spend the first hour of every day just trying to figure out who I need to reply to and what the status of everything is. The ability to ask 'Who's waiting on me?' or 'What are the open loops from last week?' would give me so much mental clarity and save so much time. I

What info are you storing and where is it being stored?

 We strive to collect and store as little data as possible. We retain only your name and email address for communication purposes. Gmail message data is fetched via Google API on-demand per session only.

Is this an extension for outlook, thought would be good. Where is the data stored locally?

Other softwares like this that I have tried fail with lots of emails . Can this handle a large volume ? like 24k emails ?

It's a great concept. One question - when you say "what if ChatGPT actually lived inside your inbox", do you actually use ChatGPT as the foundational model? Is there an option to change the base model such as Gemini or Claude?
